Being totally ignorant of riveted keyboards I thought they get sliced by the metal plate when the keyboard suffers a lateral blow. Could you test drop the modded keyboard on its side?

I know about one Ebay seller who fixes model Ms that way, yet we haven't heard how long this would hold up.
My experiences with JB Weld have all been negative. The stuff is way overrated. There are off brands that do the job much better.

Not all epoxies are the same. This was the only thing I found that did a reasonable job on ABS.

We'll see. In my experience epoxy turns yellow and brittle after 5 years.
