Title: Are there any cons to cutting your keyboard switches to fit into a hotswap?

I'm new to keyboards and recently bought a hotswap keyboard and switches, but the switches have extra prongs that prevent me from installing. Is there any cons to cutting them?

The only real con of cutting the two extra plastic fixing pins on PCB mount (5 pin) switches is that you will always have to use them with a plate. As removing the two extra fixing pins will make it near impossible to line the switch up right PCB mounted. So as long as you don't ever plan on using the switches in a plateless or half plate build, there really isn't any big drawbacks to clipping them.
