Now they're thinking with Portals!
Has anyone got one yet?
I don't see any diodes in there, although it could be the angle:They don't have to use diodes with leads. Instead, they could very well use surface mount components (you'd have to expose the PCB to be sure).
Sorry, the product you are looking for cannot be found. This could happen because we are encountering technical problems or we are updating our product catalog. Please try again at a later time.

Especially if the "free shipping" includes shipping to Europe.
We are sorry. ChiefValue.com does not ship internationally. At this time. We only ship within the United States and Puerto Rico.
After contacting our product management, we got feedback that Item# CFCE00158448010060 is currently unavailable on ChiefValue.com. The original coupon code CPQYUEJAS30 has lapsed.

Who wants to be a guinea pig?
Rosewill is Newegg's house brand (and as it turns out so was ABS). They OEM other stuff. I would like to know who actually makes this keyboard and if it's under any other brand.
cool - i may go for this if the coupon ends up working!
Deactivated again on CV and Newegg.
Master trolling.
Wow, can't seem to make up their minds.
ugh, i can't wait until september to get on a mechanical keyboard.
Oh, it's spelled RoseWILL.

This was a Cherry G80-3000 that a Geekhacker posted. He swore no cigarettes were involved. (http://geekhack.org/showpost.php?p=115002&postcount=1615)Show Image(http://www.abload.de/img/dsc00128x2pd.jpg)

I believe they mark it up for the 20%...

Not as far as I can tell. (http://www.pricetrackr.com/i/N82E16823201040/)
I mean, I lucked out (long story, including groveling) and got it for $72.
The expected sale price of $80 should happen on October 11th if OCN is right.
All keyboards are a bit different (although I'd love for someone to crack open one of these and see if is a Costar CST-104).
The ABS M1 I know is not the Costar CST-104. My bet this is like the Costar CST-Rosewill or something.
Wow I hope I can get one at the sweet spot of $70.
I think if keyboard manufacturers can get close to $70, then they'll be hitting critical mass on sales. $100 is hard to justify.
By the way, from those pictures it looks to me like the underside of the case is identical to the ABS M1.
Definitely looks Costar. Like the Das/Filco/half a dozen other brands.
I'm just saying it's the insides that count.
Try this.Ooo prettyShow Image(http://www.diatec.co.jp/image_prod/FKBE109JP_01.jpg)
Here I am on Oct 11 and it says "Although you've entered a valid promo code RWBRAND20US, your order does not currently meet the code's usage criteria."
Not sure what this is all about.
Rosewill did not elect to make the RK-9000 part of their promo (http://www.facebook.com/Rosewill#!/Rosewill/posts/157584140935704).boo...
boo...
Yeah I'm bitter about missing the Chief Value one.
Maybe I should stop grousing over a $20 discount already.
Just ordered one of these. Right now it's at $84 + shipping, but you can get a free gaming headset (meh).
The race is on for which one will show up first. This one or my Filco Majestouch Tactile Touch from elitekeyboards. Which I just noticed updated their backorder date to Nov 10th.
When I have them both I will have to see which I like better. The Rosewill with the cherry blues or the Filco with the cherry browns.
And mine from NJ, when I ordered from ChiefValue.
Well, more precisely, ChiefValue CA, but tracking number put the origin at NJ...
Unusual. This was not the case in the past. In fact, even when I know an item is in Edison (Newegg's estimation on the last stage of checkout), every time I've ordered from Chiefvalue (cheaper price), it had shipped from CA.Well sometimes its just a matter of which warehouse they have it at.
CV used to claim to be separate from Newegg, but the SSL cert is signed to Newegg Inc. (it's extended validation) so clearly this doesn't fly. They say they share a warehouse.
Interestingly enough, mail from Chiefvalue customer service bounces off of S7CEX03.buyabs.corp before hitting smtp01.newegg.com.
Anyhow, logically my RK-9000 should have shipped from NJ (closest), but it didn't.

Both Newegg and Chiefvalue have delisted the RK-9000. Which is curious, as they could both mark them out of stock instead.
My Chief Value keyboard shipped from Memphis and took two days to reach Virginia. The box says "Newegg" in case you were wondering. I don't know what makes you think both storefronts wouldn't use the same logistics because they obviously do.
I think at 70-80$, the rk-9000 is the best deal going in new keyboards. At this price-point, I prefer the Unicomp SpaceSaver 104/105, the picture on their site does not do it justce.
That esc key is the answer, but what is the question?I'll take a guess at "How many wives would you like", but maybe that's just one too many.
I bought this keyboard sometime ago and I really like but I am still getting used to it.
It's my first mechanical keyboard so I can't compare it to anything else but it is very heavy and built really well.
My biggest problem, which I think is just user error is that I "double space" a lot. Usually once or twice in something as long as this. I think it's just because of my repeat delay or something not the keyboard, sometimes I hit space in the middle of words too, so I guess it's my thumb still not used to the keyboard. The space bar seems to activate higher than any other key though.
Could be a firmware error as well.
You still having the problem?
I've had a few random double spaces as well when typing on this keyboard. Not sure if it is just me still adjusting for the spacebar or not, since I came from the land of the sketchy membrane keyboards.
Think might just be the angle my thumb connects with it perhaps?
Could be a firmware error as well.

Sounds like you have a chattering spacebar that needs to be repaired.

I'd be interested to know, for folks experiencing the unwanted double space issue, what keyboards folks where using prior to the Rosewill RK-9000?
I just read on Teamliquid that the RK-9000 is on sale for $80 CAD on Newegg.ca. Can't confirm it though.

I was using a $10 Lite-On membrane keyboard and before that a microsoft comfort curve.
When I try to do the test on elitekeyboards about chattering keys, I can't replicate any issues. Or I will do something like mash keys like "hsfsef sefjislfj seflisejfsef sflisefjsef sefsefjs" for 10 minutes straight, I'll never see a double space or space after the first letter of a word, but I do quite regularly end up with them in my normal typing.
That's why I am very hesitant to say there's something physically wrong with the keyboard. It's annoying that I have to hunt down double spaces every few sentences but other than that it is really great to type on.
They did that before. The reviews weren't too hot on the headset. I'd rather get free keys.
Just got this today. I used the coupon to bring it down to $80, so I paid $87 total. I'd say it's worth it. This is my first experience with Cherry blue switches, and I love that I'm already bottoming out less than with browns.
Necroing this thread to ask: Have they stopped making this keyboard? I was planning on getting it for my girlfriend, but newegg has deactivated it and cheifvalue doesn't have it on it's site.
I was wondering the same thing since I've been pimping them out to a lot of people.
If you can't get find this the good news is you can get a Filco now on Amazon thanks to the good folks at The Keyboard Company having worked something out with them. It will be Fulfillment by Amazon which means it's like a normal domestic Amazon purchase.
Otherwise it's the Leopolds at Elite Keyboards, although they currently are only tenkeyless models if that's important to you.
March is turning out to be a good month.
They'll be back in stock.
I told ya guys to wait and not buy those Ugly OCN Duckys. March is turning out to be a good month.
And unlike KL by nature I am an optimist.
