I figured that I’d just screwed up my wifi. Wired boxes seem fine.

[ ID] Interval Transfer Bitrate
[ 7] 0.00-1.01 sec 1.15 MBytes 9.61 Mbits/sec
[ 7] 1.01-2.00 sec 73.9 KBytes 608 Kbits/sec
[ 7] 2.00-3.00 sec 1001 KBytes 8.20 Mbits/sec
[ 7] 3.00-4.00 sec 1.24 MBytes 10.4 Mbits/sec
Then again, I consistently see one or a few ****ty tests, like 1-2sec there. So, my guess would be ISP traffic shaping. ****ers.

Been happy w/ my ASUS AC3200 Tri-Band Router, paid $200 for it but that was 2yrs ago.
But I can say the stability of the ISP at the In-Laws has been crap (Comcast/Xfinity) - but they are using the X-Fi combo Router/modem unit - I'm pushing for them to change so they don't have to pay the highly avoidable rental fees and crap equipment. Also don't like that when you restart their unit it takes out the cable boxes as well (even though I never watch tv).

The real question is whats going on with my internet? Keeps shortening out the connection to funny lego game despite it being blazing fast

I had significant problems trying to upload to and modify images on Imgur. Then it actually cut out and said it was experiencing too much traffic.
Don't remember that happening before.

Did anyone read that article about the old man who was causing internet shortages across his entire village every morning when he powered on his ancient television?

depends on your ISP and its configuration but the extra networking load from wfh and home schooling is definitely non negligible with all the video calling and streaming going on.
