Above image is a PC Brick version. You can put ARGB LED Strips below that PC Brick.
Imagine light coming up from bottom and you put your lego figures on that!

You can check the grooves below the PC brick.

The render on the above image is the initial design of The Brick 65(typing angle with 6 degrees).
Honestly speaking, I like this design much more.
But...if keycaps are put into the keyboard,
the keycaps may hinder the brick. And it will not look so good.
So I raised the brick upper surface 10mm.
But still I am interested on the initial design, and may develop further with a bit higher typing angle.

Various bricks I am gonna make.
I Will provide variety of bricks,
including bricks for artisan keycaps,
bricks for lego figures, tray bricks,
and a brick with function keys and knob(if I can find a PCB supplier to make a PCB which supports all that functions) etc.
If you have a good idea for bricks, please visit my discord server and let me know.

[Other Information]
Hi everybody!
This keyboard is called 'the Brick 65',
not only because of you can put your lego bricks on the keyboard,
but also you can change that huge brick to another one.
Prototype drawings have been finished, but I will consider and reflect any suggestions from you!
This is why I have opened this IC although another IC/GB by me is on-going.
I will start the Brick 65 GB right after 'Nyaong 75' GB.
• MOQ : TBD
• Estimated Price : TBD
• Ships worldwide
Thank you for reading my thread.
Hope many of you are interested on my keyboard.
Detailed info can be found on below discord server.

----------- Updates -----------
Below is the final version of The Brick 65.
I have modified some rounded corners and name plate angle etc.
There will be no more modification to the outer line.
So, the design is final!
(Currently, poll about 'attaching handles or not' is on-going in my discord server.
If attaching handles' wins, I will put handles to the keyboard. This will be the only modification, if any happens).

I had a choice between delving into the money-consuming hobbies of either Legos or Keyboards... yet here we are at the height of my interest. Definitely watching this closely!

I need to be launched into space.
-
looks something that a child would always dream about... super nice
glwic, can't wait for improvements and updates :)
-
cool
-
this is actually really cool!
-
I thought the mount65 was good, this is even better! fr tho this looks sweet GL with IC
-
The artisan case is phenomenal.
-
This is pretty silly, but also a really good design. The thick bezel and retro curves are great, and finding a way to make that bezel useful is genius.
-
Wait this is actually genius - I'd 100% buy!
-
Ok. Now this is the first keep that's made me genuinely smile. Hoping this makes it to market as fcfs or unlimited because I need this.
-
this is nice...I guess?

Will consider an unlimited quantity on limited time GB.
If many ppl participate on GB, I could provide more bricks on the market.
-
What about a small lube station or something where the brick is as a option? Not sure how many slots you could make in that space though..
-
I need this in my life. The possibilities...

Ah, yes, I have already dove into Legos, might as well add another keyboard that will let me set my Lego Brick Headz on...

this is such a cool idea!

What bottom row layout options are available? The plate in the pic shows 3x1.25+1x6.25+2x1.5 and no 4x1.5+1x7 balanced row. Will the latter be an option?
-
Generally I like the idea of replaceable bricks a lot. How are they attached to the case?
I support your decision to raise the brick area up. Even though your initial design looks better without the keys I guess that's not how most people will use it :)
I also would like to see the question about bottow row layouts (and layouts in general) being answered. Will split space be supported?

Not decided yet for bottom raw. Will consider 4x1.5u + 1x7u too

For attaching method not decided yet. I will use whether screws or magnets.
For bottom raw I am going to support two or three layers. Sorry for the split space.

Such a fun concept!
-
Dumbest thing I've seen in a while, I absolutely love it!
-
The name had me thinking this was going to be a keyboard without a PCB.
But I like it.
I want to see this concept with a clear case and the ability to attach bricks internally to dampen resonances and to diffract RGB light in complex patterns.
-
made me nut in 3 seconds not gonna lie. very nice board
-
seems like that thing is going to be a nightmare to machine. it's a unique idea but making the main case less complex might be a good idea

There are milling bits with rounded shape. All the rounded corners(with constant radius) can be easily cut through using those bits.
-
Wow, great work. I don't think I've ever been so excited for a kit!
-
i like the design with out the raised back. i think it would be cool to not have the arrows and extras keys not separated from the rest. ill probably try to buy two
-
Love the idea of this, and it's my favourite form factor so definitely interested.

Without the raised back, brick thickness should be 10mm. But as I am going to make a brick with function keys and a knob, I need that 20mm thickness. So there should be that raised back. But I am making The Brick 75 without the raised back(It's possible through higher layout and raised typing angle).
-
I'll be waiting on the price then decide. So far this looks good. I love that Gold color too
-
clearly interested. I wait for the 75 thread.
-
looks interesting, but the fit of the lego brick with actual lego pieces seems like a potential place for error. would like to see a prototype of the brick with lego bumps and an image of lego pieces attached to it to evaluate how well they fit together

Yeah that's a known problem with any type of lego clone product. lego is the gmk of bricks, their tolerances are crazy and most clones fall short. Makes me wonder if lego could do some sick abs keycaps.

Yeah will make the stud with some differnt radius.
But as the brick will be made of aluminum, there may be no problem of compatibility with the lego bricks.

Any chance for a dark navy case?

If no one in this community attaches an impractically large millennium falcon to this i will be disappointed

Colours have not been decided yet.

I can see my son stealing this from me if I were to get it.
-
neat idea and definitely interested
-
10/10 would buy
-
name plate should have studs on it as well. just for consistency and the aability to have mini figs stand on that if some of the other things were put onto the actual backplate
-
The brick
is good
-
Any chance we could get a module with leds built in that we could program? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07418XNJ2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_8tqIFbW9CKQZ6

Oh this is super rad. Always refreshing to see stuff like this.

Understood. I may make it as an option, if it is 'manufacturable'. But I can only put 1 raw of studs. Will it be still Ok to you?

hmmm. I am not an electronics engineer. Sorry. But I can make a brick that support arduino board and some big lcd(diy kit)

Cool!
