Title: The Boys Season 2
Post by: tp4tissue on Sat, 10 October 2020, 09:31:15
Finally watched it.

Tp4 still thinks they could do without the weird secs stuff. had to turn away /max uncomfortable.

Is it just me, or do all the actors suddenly look way older than season 1 ?  Maybe they used better cameras ?

Spoilers:

LOL, Homelander is Trump, except for the Obesity thing.

As far as the age thing, I noticed the same thing especially for Homelander in the final shot. Great stuff all around. Can't wait for the next season.

Maybe it's steroids ? I read it's popular in hollywood.

But that wouldn't explain why all the women looked super older as well.  Could also be Steroids. .. /chin scratch

I never liked sex in my shows. It's to the point now where I just ff them, they serve no purpose I can determine.

s02 was alright, still need to watch the last episode. I REALLY liked the courtroom scene that was amazing. They do a good job of writing Homelander as sort of naïve and babyish while still making him very dangerous, it's a good dynamic. Him literally drinking milk from a teet is driving the point home a bit strong but it works.

The 'good guys' aka Butcher and the Boys are so disorganized. My god, most of the time everyone is doing their own thing and sometimes even unknowingly working against each other. It's a wonder they can accomplish anything at all, let alone the level of tasks they do accomplish, given the heights of dysfunction, poor communication, and general disorganization this supposed organization actually has.

They definitely over did it on the sex, more used it as filler over telling the story.  I do have to say the season finale for S2 was nuts and completely unexpected finish to it.  Can't wait to see what they do with season 3.

Finally just finished the season today as well. I just hope they don't continue with the weekly episodes format for next season.

That is my hope as well, I want to watch it at my pace not at a weekly scheduled pace.

Homelander may be one of my top 5 fav villains.

The weekly planet just did an episode on 10 possible ways to kill homelander. Worth a watch.

35's the new 25. That's why they always get 25 year olds to play highschoolers.

Yeah the last episode was pretty good. The balls on the writing, I didn't think they would do it with the kid and the mom but they DID! I was shocked, the implications, the Stormfront plotline, the bad guy winning. Very glad big budget scripts like this still exist in this cautious climate.

I think this is the only show I have ever "hate watched".

The plot is good, the writing is good, character development on the other hand is horrible. You could replace 90% of the cast and I doubt anyone would really notice, even The Butcher is a bit of a hollow character, the last 10% you love to hate. To be fair though I think at least some of this may actually be on purpose, Vought treats them as disposable and maybe we're supposed to feel the same.

As for the aging, I noticed it as well.
There was 2 years between filming the two seasons but I also wonder if them aging quick is part of the plot to be forthcoming, a failsafe system. I need to look, but if Stormfront didn't age and the others did it will probably be a plot point.

Have you watched Preacher? You may like that.

I started to and got bored with it. I was told second season was better, but meh.

You think Amazon Prime goes that deep ?

So far Amazon and Netflicks and to a lesser extent HBO have been trashing Hollywood, so maybe.

Not that it takes much to beat sequel after reboot after prequel, but still, at least they're willing to be edgy and let writers be creative.

Well at least they've confirmed filming for Season 3 will supposedly start Feb '21.
