any chance for that to get added?

will this keyset have minivan compatibility?
Yes please!
I’m hoping my Jules board ships soon, hopefully I can add this to it. I’d also love to have a board made by Salvun (or somebody that works with him if the GB is unlimited).
Something that’s not in your FAQ, but which I can expect will also be answered “no”, though I still want it:
Any chance of a southpaw variant?

Not for the group buy. Switch plate is fixed, PCB is hot-swap.
Will you color match this to Nautilus Nightmares?

I love you for this pcb color Wilba
Lovely design and keyboard, but the fixed layout (WKL) forces me to pass. A bit sad but I am sure it will sell great either way! :DSame. Can't live without my Winkey shortcuts.
I thought so, sorry, but I had to ask.Any chance of a southpaw variant?
No. That would require some heavy changes and a different PCB.
Much respect to Zambu going unlimited! Unlike others out there that.......
I love your work, man, but without an option for wk layout this goes from my endgame to won't buy. You say you want it to be great for productivity; well, that particular key + ctrl + alt is so important to a lot of us. I know you're undoubtedly all the way at the end of prototypes and design, but if there's even the slightest chance for a re-design on pcb + plate, you'd make a fan very happy. If not, I'll just be sad about the almost that sar represents for me.The solution to your woes is Ctrl goes to where caps lock is. Bottom is Alt -> Win -> Space. This goes for any keyboard

Great layout.Maybe a delete key could do

I noticed most base sets don’t include a ‘=‘ key like in the numpad renders. What key do folks plan to put?

Really respect the unlimited gb, I assume more units will mean a lower price but with the features this has I bet it'll still be a buck or two. Is the plate two parts? I noticed screws on the top side of the plate and was wondering if it was a two part plate? Or is it just a single thick plate with cut outs where the switch latches would be one a 1.5mm plate. Finally, I'm wondering if the led indicators will be addressable? I'd like to program one of them to flash at every keypress.
sadge 1u zero
It wouldn't be a dealbreaker normally but that numpad layout is really upsetting.
No iso avail?
Might be a weird question, but what is the color of the pcb? Is it the light blue shown?

Yes, but kindly note that the images are of 3D renders and are for illustration purposes only. The final colors may differ slightly.
This may be a dumb question but is there a way to add a backlight to the PCB?
I'll be using this for work and when I work late it's nice to have a backlight.

The plate is one part. The fixtures are used to secure the PCB when there are no switches attached to it.
Yes, they are addressable.

Now you have me curious. I too assumed it was 2 parts.
How then do the switches stay in place? They can't clip into the plate, and they aren't soldered onto the PCB.

They clip into the plate. The switch cutouts have a recess on the underside so the plate is 1.5mm thick where the switch clips into the plate.
There are M2 screws on either side of a threaded spacer to attach the PCB to the plate, the same method I used on Ramaworks U80-A, M65-B, KARA, Zambumon Jules, ION Zenith and wilba.tech Thermal. This ensures the PCB and plate remain parallel during installation of switches. The bonus benefit is the ability to change switches without disassembling the case.

This looks great, one of the best executed full-size-ish boards I've seen. Depending on a couple factors there's a very good chance I'll grab one.
Can anybody with experience with thick poly plates provide insight into the resulting flex and sound profile? Intuitively I'd expect it to be something like a more muted standard thickness alu plate but I have no idea what to expect.
5mm polycarb, nice and stiff feeling, a full-bodied feeling and sound
Cyan PCB looking nice.
I'm very tempted by this, even though I already bought into the Hex.6C, but WKL is not exactly ideal for someone working in a Windows shop. To satisfy my lack of knowledge here, do WKLs usually have a Winkey hot-combo, or is that functionality nixed entirely?
Great layout.

I assume we Europeans will be able to buy from an EU vendor, right?
Really curious how the thick plate & gasket mount will play together? I know with a plate that thick flex is out of the picture, but I'm assuming it'll really help with sound. Which will probably be wildly different between the PC & brass plates. Awesome work Zamb, really looking forward to this hopefully being my first custom 1800!
I think zambumon wants to make really durable board for actually using in office (bashing it)
I just wanted a chonker board. The noblest of intentions

Wilba isn't a color picker.
This keyboard looks cool, but I find it hard to see it as a productivity instrument with so few bottom row keys since they all (including Super) have some use to many people.

You can just remap the bottom row to your liking.
Interested depending on price.
Beautiful design but what is it with "custom" boards that do not allow any layout variety and come completely fixed? I would be in the market for a compact "full-size" but this product is clearly meant for our friends in the US. :cool:Amen

At least a solderable pcb with some options would be nice, even as an add on.

Oh my lord I'm fcking drooling, there is no way in all hell that I don't get this, unless the prices comes out to like 700+, in which case I'll probably get still get it but with tears streaming down my face. Awaiting price announcements now lol
The only thing that hurts is lack of winkey, but I'll probably reprogram something else - maybe f13, since I don't know what it is
I am willing to make sacrifices for this beauty
Maybe this is not relevant to the topic, but I guess somebody somebody can help me a little bit:
Is there any other custom KB out there like this Sar, 60-65% keyboard with integrated numpad, but without the F rows? So far I only see Aegis Ext 65, but it's impossible to get it..

Maybe this is not relevant to the topic, but I guess somebody somebody can help me a little bit:I think the Flex Apogee is like you described, but with Southpaw (numpad on left). I’m wondering whether there will be a conventional (numpad on right) option as well, but I think that requires a wholly different PCB...

Thanks for the help!...and one more..?
Actually I have no problem with Southpaw! And I also already saw that IC and follow it.Good to know you like it!
For the keyboards mentioned above, a quick check on Reddit r/mm returns me either no one selling them, or they are selling at $1500+ which is something a I cannot afford :(
So yeah, I will definitely follow this Sar. And also Zambumon's Fisterra :)
We are waiting for parts to be re-anodized. In the meantime, I have tested a cerakoted assembly with the 4.75mm brass plate. I'm happy with the typing sounds and the feel of the keyboard.
just wondering but does this have a 1.5u right shift or a 1.75u right shift?
Hey Zambumon!
I am totally into 1800s and this board looks so great!
However, I have a small question. I would go for the Black version, however I fear, that an all black-out board would look kinda empty.
Do you think it would be possible to buy an additional bottom aluminum piece? For example, I would buy a black Sar and a silver bottom.
If not then it would be fine too, am just curious. :D
Hi!
I am okay with this friendly layout because can accommodate cherry OG keycaps. But, do you (and wilba) have any plan to make solderable-multi layout version PCB?

I love this but I dont think I could use a non-iso-compatible 1800I'm from Germany, so I was used to the ISO enter too. To be honest I got into the normal ANSI enter very quickly, and I don't miss the ISO enter at all. Furthermore, there are so many better keycap options if you go with ANSI because the ISO enter just doesn't look so nice in my humble opinion.
I'm not sure if this'll come with ESD protection?
Hey Zamb! This is really cool! Great choice for both board and PCB manufacturers. Sorry if this was answered elsewhere, but has a prototype been made yet?
I'm not sure if this has been asked before because I'm a lazy dunce who doesn't want to read, but what kind of hot-swap sockets are used on the WT90-A?
Had been thinking of pairing the momentum red Sar with GMK Watermelon (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=111724.0). But I just realised that I'd like an R1 = for the numpad, which Watermelon doesn't have.
I know the Striker R2 macro expansion kit has one. (Stepped control, too, which would be nice.)
Do you guys know any other kits currently running, or soon to run, with one?

Just buy two and mix and match? Truthfully, I bet you can find users who would be interested in taking up the other side of that as well, (say someone who wants a blue top and a black bottom.)

I noticed 3 Led pipes in the component list. Where are they meant to be shining through? I couldn't tell from the renders (or maybe I missed it).

I want this, but please release it in two to three years, when I will be able to afford it. Really digging the design and colorways.
Do you still intend to release the two tone blue and silver?
is there no chance of a just blue board ? (kinda a pain to buy two boards just to get the color combo right)
(i know its asking a lot to not do the two tone, but just wondering if its possible to skip it or have the choice to choose the color)
Did you know I wake up every day checking to see if this is ready for gbLol same, checking for a friend. This is by far the best looking option atm for an 1800 with f-row
1 year of IC and we dont see any progress so farI've bought several TKC1800's since. I would have preferred a pretty metal case, but oh well.
Zambumon posted on his Discord this morning that this has been delayed until metal prices go down.
Who knows when that will ever be.
why would anyone assume that the metal prices will go down anytime soon? that's not really something probable.
