Title: Bloomberg SEA100 (2 units, 750 euros?!)

Anyone know anything about these things? Price is negotiable. Seller says the 750 euros is an indication.

We have one of these at work.  They look really cool (better than the pic would suggest), but there's nothing special about them.  They're some type of rubber dome, but I can't remember if they are a regular dome 'board or scissor switch.  They're intended to interface with a specific Bloomberg application that allows you to look at a bunch of financial data.  I don't use it, though, so I can't really say much more about it.

Made in this lovely place. (http://www.villagevoice.com/2002-07-23/news/bloomberg-s-terminal-troubles/)

The same factory that also brought you the IBM Models M13 and M15...

One more reason I prefer the Lexmark version.  No blood money paid towards questionable union-busting tactics.

I'm a pretty liberal guy, but I thought it was funny how the Village Voice pretty much called Bloomberg out for not doing something about the union busting like they were the only ones contracting Maxi Switch.  That's like saying Apple pretty much pushed those people out of the top story window at Foxconn.  Dumb stuff like that only gives the Fox News crowd a reason to hate the "Librul Meedyuh."

Edit:  Now that I give it a little more thought, I understand the reasoning a little better.  The Village Voice is a "local" NYC newspaper, and they were trying to get a jab in at Mayor Bloomberg.  Still, kinda dumb.

Totally agreed, just that seeing it reminded me of that article.

Well, my thought is more towards the practices that were used - and not so much the jab at Bloomberg.

That said, I'd not care if they were rubber dome - since they could be considered a "terminal keyboard" of sorts.  Not a 122-key IBM Model F terminal, but a reasonably good terminal keyboard.

Maxiswitch was a subcontractor for Lexmark. Where's your God now?

Look like the two that were on UK ebay a while back and went for a few quid.
Might dig thru my listing to see if they are still there.
