Title: Building an Arcade stick
Post by: ironman31 on Thu, 29 July 2010, 00:50:33
I've gotten the urge to build an arcade controller for fighting games.

It seems like I could use the inards of my xbox 360 wired controller to connect to all the buttons and the joystick.

Has anyone here ever tried building one before?

I built one a decade ago, via gamepad hack, too. Also, deja vu (http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?t=7827).

I realized I never used it much, but it was fun nonetheless for some ancient game nostalgia.

The Namco in my avatar  (http://s247.photobucket.com/albums/gg160/fr3dsk1/Namco%20Mod/)is one that I modded.
Padhacking is quite popular and there are lots of resources on the web with diagrams (including solder points) for basically every gamepad you can think of.
