Title: Howdy!
Post by: homeyclaus on Fri, 13 November 2020, 12:41:50
I have always been about keyboard feel, and since the keyboard I liked the most pretty much wore out and is discontinued, I started shopping, looked into the world of mechanical keyboards, and wow, was I missing out. I type (code) for a living, despise the mouse, don't really like things wireless (security kind of) and am pretty handy with a wrench and soldering iron.

Dream keyboard feel (don't laugh): Fujitsu 48xx series (yeah, the "toilet-plunger" membrane thing)

Keyboard I used to like (and still love the keycaps for): Dell KB 212-B

Anyways, as it is, I am now running a DasKeyboard w brown switches and damper rings, and I just wish the key profile were better, like closet to the Fujitsu or Dell one.

I also picked up a RedDragon Draconic wireless from the local electronics retailer's open box bin, and at its price point it's pretty neat to see hot-swappable switches.

ETA: I have been into 3d printing for a couple of years now, and have been playing with the OpenSCAD KeyV2 library to render 3d-printed keys. Might run a set next week.
