Title: model M minis
Post by: jpc on Mon, 02 August 2010, 22:02:37
These model M minis look similar....

first auction (http://cgi.ebay.com/IBM-Model-M-Space-Saver-Keyboard-1391472-1987-/250675586140)

second auction (http://cgi.ebay.com/IBM-Model-M-Space-Saver-Keyboard-1391472-9-11-1987-/200503903789)

In fact they use the same exact photos and same date of birth. Despite being different sellers. Somebody is taking liberties. Is it fraud?

Wish I hadn't bid on one...

Well I got mine from Comptekw2k for about 170$
If you look back at his sale history you can see he sold for even less than that. I guess this is around the average cost.

Don't hold your breath.  I was joking about Unicomp.  It's the Geekhack version of Duke Nukem Forever.

Maybe if we all send them (bombard them with) emails, they'll at least tell us it's not coming out.

1987...that should be one of the earliest minis, then (serial number dependent of course).

IIRC the 'mini' was introduced for the PS/2 (Model 25 specifically) while the normal Model M was released earlier for certain PC/XT and PC/AT submodels.

The first fullsize was for the 3161 terminal. Tut tut.
