I know the Cherry MX RGB variants will support an internal SMD RGB LED like the LTST-C19HE1WT (https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/lite-on-inc/LTST-C19HE1WT/3198710). Do other RGB variant switches also support this by default? I'm not sure.
I am working on a microcontroller board that utilizes an M.2 connector to plug into the keyboard PCB. It's a cozy fit but functional. The only issue is that it doesn't easily support the gull wing/4-PLCC bottom mount type RGB LEDs... So, if there is only a few switches that support the top internal mount RGBs then I may need to take the project in a different direction.
Thank you,
