Title: Aluminium TKL Keyboard case
Post by: MrBoron on Wed, 03 March 2021, 17:03:50
Hello,

I'm currently looking to build a custom keyboard and am looking for a Aluminium TKL keyboard case for around $150 USD (can go slightly over)

If anyone has any recommendations if you could send a link it would be greatly appreciated.

Are you looking for just a case or a case and pcb, VERY few cases alone are made and they are usually made to be a matched set.

What you are asking for, is simply not feasible. TKLs are by far and large the most expensive out of any custom keyboard layouts. Their minimum price starts at around $350 and there are group buys right now selling just the alu case (w/o PCB) for $500+

KBDfans currently have some extra kits for their KBD8x MKII in alu and polycarbonate, and is probably the cheapest custom TKL you can buy right now:

The only other option closest to your price range is the Drop CTRL high-profile. While more of a 'barebones' kit than a 'custom' kit, this is as close as possible you can get to a custom 'feeling' keyboard.

WASD Keyboards makes a TKL aluminum case for their keyboards that sells for $150.  I don't know what the chances are of another keyboard manufacturer's PCBs fitting in one of their cases, and they're out of stock of all three colors at the moment, but that might be something to consider.

I have one for sale - ID87 TKL alu hot-swappable Mechanical Keyboard Kit.
Its in perfect condition, already added Durock stabilisers but I can take them out and put original ones.
Its a bit more than you looking for but this is a full kit - case, pcb, full size original foam.
Just add switches and caps.
