Title: Does a shorter TKL exist?
Post by: g_hack_it on Fri, 02 April 2021, 08:53:14
I'm trying to find board that's a cross between ikki68 and an exploded 75% layout. My main need/want is a full-sized shift-key + F-keys + semi-exploded arrow cluster in as small a package as possible. Does a layout like this exist and what would it be called?

If this doesn't exist, are there any programmable 68-key boards with similar layouts to ikki68 & saka 68 I should keep my eyes out for? I'm new and it seems I missed the boat on both GBs.

Attached screenshot of my current working ideal layout (although I don't care much about Insert & Print Screen).

I think the ID80 comes the closest to what you want.

Yeah that and the gmmk pro come really close, it's just the right-shift key that holds me back at this point. However I'm working on normal/non-exploded 75% board right now and it's gotten a lot easier since switching from XDA to KAT keycaps. So maybe by the time I'm ready to pull the trigger on a new board, I won't care anymore.

You might like the Returned Wing! The f row isn't exploded but it's close enough to what you want. https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=106227.0

(Note that you get more updates and info from their discord. They don't use geekhack often, unfortunately.)
