Found this on one of the "deal" boards.
At this price the Cherry Brown version is a steal at $103. The item I ordered is called the Professional Model S Silent and for some reason costs more than the Cherry Blue (regular) version.

Yeah, I didn't want to cheat since I'm not a student.

One day too late! I ordered my filco browns yesterday :(
-
Kid's school ID is not cheating.
Lucky you said that, I'll try that next time I have to buy expensive software.

Ahh it arrived in today.
I have no complaints. Silky smooth keys with an inital rubber-dome-like bump and a small, tactile bump right before the key actuates. It's just like my ALPS keyboards but not rattly. This is a good keyboard. I especially like the quiet Cherry Browns without the pretentious high-pitched click that I hated in the 1980s. They're just like non-clicky ALPS but without the rattle.
The DAS Professional S firmware is excellent. No transposition errors like the ABS M1 so I can type faster now.
I have a theory: the price may be down for all buyers because the keyboard does not meet current Windows logo requirements due to the non-domed Windows key. That matters to some resellers and groups (not the domed keys, silly, but the Windows logo).

Lolz.
What do you mean by tactical feedback? The loud clicking sound? o_o
I may end up getting one of these...

man this sucks. I've been wanting to get a mechanical for ages but i live in Australia and you can't get them here without paying about twice as much
-
I dunno, DSI was blowing out ASK-6600 models which also do not have the domed key.
I bet keyboard makers find the domed key requirement really annoying for Windows 7 Logo Certification requirements. Feh.

I want a keyboard with "tactical feedback." Should help my gaming strategies.
