I bought a set of four (4) new Selectric III balls thinking they were IBM but after re-reading the item description, it turns out they're GP. Blah! Anyway, I bought them for decorative purpose anyway so I guess it doesn't make much difference...

That's too bad.

Yeah, I think most people buy them for decoration rather than for serious typing: bad news for those who would actually want to have different fonts for their typewriters. Supposedly there are still such individuals that confide themselves to typewriters rather than those pesky modern boxes that everyone calls "computers".

It would be kind of fun having a good IBM selectric around; I'd probably use it to type things while I'm outside or something (typing on computers outside never seems to work due to sun glare: and you wouldn't want insects in your desktop: although my intellistation does have a habit of sucking hapless bugs that fly too close to the front vent).
