Title: I made a thing.

Tl;dr: rebuilt a Razer Marauder into a QMK-compatible mech with VIA support.

Typing test (Phone had a stroke and the audio gain is pretty terribad):

Specs:
* Elite-C v3.1 controller;
* Razer Marauder case;
* Aluminium plate for alphas;
* Resin print plates for F-row keys + numpad;
* Gateron Yellow switches lubed with Krytox 205G00 and filmed with TX Yellow films;
* OG Cherry Stabilizers;
* GMK White on Black.

Currently it's 90% (see what I did there :D), still needs the RGB put in place and linked to WPM as a replacement for APM lighting not being supported by Starcraft 2 anymore.

To-do:
- add a 128x32 OLED screen; I feel this needs a layer indicator and most definitely a bongo cat animation;
- add the actual RGB and link it to WPM as a selectable mode and/or linked to a layer.

Good work saving the case from landfill, looks great and sounds surprisingly solid sounding for a handwire :thumb:

Not sure how you're going to do the RGB so will wait and see.

Thank you! Yes, the acoustics were surprising to say the least considering the jury rigging involved. Will try and see this weekend - chuck in the OLED and the RGB on a test board and go from there with QMK. At the moment I feel really lucky the layout was 12 rows + 9 columns and that left exactly 3 pins free out of the 24 digital I/O (https://deskthority.net/wiki/images/7/7d/Elite-C-black.png), exactly enough for the OLED and the WS2812. Unfortunately I did use D0 which is SCL, so I'll have to move that to D2, wire the OLED to SCL, SDA, GND and VCC and use D3 for the RGB control.

... did you give the camera to your cat to take the last pic?  Could explain the excess softness (blurring) (https://cdn.geekhack.org/Smileys/solosmileys/laugh.gif)

Glad to hear it works anyway, now make it glow!

 :)) working on it, at the moment managed to optimise the firmware to actually fit the board and shoved in minimal RGB support alongside VIA support and other optimisations.

Testing and implementation will begin soon, at the moment waiting on the pull request so I can upload the VIA json to the repo so I can get the board recognised by VIA instantly instead of opening the design file each time like savages  :D
