Title: [Help] Do I have to desolder my keyboard
Post by: ottoxf on Thu, 22 April 2021, 13:00:46
I forgot to put the stabilizers in my keyboard before I soldered all of the switches. I have this plate
https://keygem.store/collections/plate/products/carbon-fiber-plate-60

I attached an image below of what it is like right now. How can I fix this, am I able to install plate mounted stabilizers, or do I have to desolder the board and if so how long will that take.

Since it in thin carbon could i cut off the plate and then install some like that?

Do not cut off the plate, just heat up the pins and once both of a switch are heated, yank the switch. If you have a pump, then heat up a pin, suck with the pump, repeat

how long will it take to do that
for the 2u stabs, you only have to desolder one switch, but the spacebar almost looks as if you have to desolder a good chunk of switches around to see if you can bend the plate a little to slip stabs underneath, it will take a little longer than soldering if you have a pump, a good deal longer if no pump.
