You may have hit the nail on the head as I had a couple of high ABV stouts that evening.I thought it was good, mindless fun.
I mean, if you just sat down and drank alcohol, it's certainly ok, but sober, it was just incredibly bland, it's like you want to yawn, but it's got all the flashing lights going, and the whole experience was of discomfort.
Not saying it's the worst movie ever, just very oddly annoyed.
The trailer looked pretty darn good.
Movie is lame duck. kinda disappointed..
Evil Dead 3, Army of Darkness (1992) was a much better movie.Show Image(https://i.imgur.com/uqAeXBu.gif)

Can you even compare the two though? This is some nowadays hollywood garbage, while Army of Darkness has some actual passion behind the project. Also Sam Rami vs Zack Snyder on a horror movie is like a NFL team playing a high school's JV squad IMHO.So in your opinion, what went wrong.
Recycled story, cliche' lines/drama, B-D list actors, Michael Bay films have more character development.
I think if they'd taken it a little less serious all of this would have been a lot more acceptable and even expected making this an actual good film, instead everything is just sterile and dull.
