Hey guys! Just dropping a quick IC here for the new KiwiKeebs Macro!

WHAT IS IT?
This is the newest version of the KiwiKeebs MacroBoard kit, but we’ve made a few changes.
It’s a 6 key hotswap macro board with rotary encoder sporting a solid CNC aluminium case and chunky knob - with USB-C!
THE PCB
Soldering a pro micro or USB-C counterpart was fiddly for new users, we designed this new PCB to have all these components integrated.
The only components that require soldering this time around are the 6 hotswap sockets and the rotary encoder which is a much simpler task for someone new to this hobby. I will also offer an assembly service for a small fee for anyone who isn’t confident.
The board will come pre-flashed with VIAL and be both QMK and VIA compatible so you can start customising right away! Note: QMK and VIA don’t currently support rotary encoders but you can custom compile firmware to change this functionality, this is also why I am pre-flashing and encouraging the use of VIAL to make this easier.
THE CASE & KNOB
Both the case and knob are made from CNC aluminium manufactured and anodised here in the UK. For the moment the plan is to run with:
Black (Anodised)
Purple (Anodised)
E-White
E-White is more difficult for me to get made so it will depend on the IC and MOQ as to if this is possible!
WHAT DO I GET?
* 1 x Aluminium Case
* 1 x Aluminium Knob
* 1 x Rotary Encoder
* 6 x Kailh hot swap sockets
* 1 x PCB
* 1 x FR4 Plate
* 1 x KiwiKeebs Sticker
* Screws & fittings
PLEASE NOTE: You will need to source your own 6 x Cherry MX switches, keycaps and USB-C cable.
PRICING
The full kit will come in cheaper than the V1 at £73 + Shipping providing MOQ is hit!
PLEASE NOTE: If you require a specific carrier for your country because of COVID please message after ordering and I can quote you the extra needed.
SHIPPING TIME?
I tentatively want to ship these in Q3, but Q4 is a more realistic goal!
If you want to check out the V1 macro and the 3D printed kits they are still visible on the site! https://kiwikeebs.co.uk

Looks good to me dude!
-
Looks pretty cool. features are nice too. Hopefully the price is decent enough
-
Looks great!. I really like my v1 so im excited for v2.
-
Pleased to see this up! An opportunity for me to get one in aluminium. Although I love my 3DP v1, there's nothing like a cold metal dial!
Really interested to see how VIA/VIAL goes. Let me know if you need me to test any firmware.
-
Very nice! I would like to see this in some other case materials as well, maybe PC, or all brass ;). Good luck!
-
Awesome, glad this came as missed out on the V1!

I am really enjoying my Kiwikeeb v1. The build quality is solid. Really looking forward to the purple version in r2 along with USB C

Haha you know I have been daydreaming about this, maybe another lil run / case only run in the future :P
Oh and thanks!

Why does everything with rotaries have so much of my interest? At this rate I'm going to end up with 5 rotaries on my desk and I've only thought up three uses for them.
I don't even care. I want this.
-
Looks good. :) Are Poly or ABS cases planned?
-
Didn't know I needed this but now I do T_T

Not for the GB but I am exploring options for future case drops! :D

I am all in for this! Looks SICK!
-
Very interested.
VIAL working great on my BNR1 Binepad!
Recommended for rotary encoder programming.
-
Definitely in on this guy, looks awesome!

The IC mentions a build service, but also says hotswap. Will soldering be required?

So the kit will need the 6 hotswap sockets and the rotary encoder soldering.
It is a really simple solder job but I will also include a build server for a small fee and it will arrive assembled :)
