Define good for everyone its different. I think Stock Gateron switches are good enough or cherry switches.  Just have to break them in and they will feel nice after a few weeks.

For me good would just be some generally solid linears.
.
Thanks,

I mean...
Tangies are smooth, not my favorite sounding
Jwicks for budget
Waterkings are nice if you can pick out non-sluggish one

I see, so the good ones for you are the ones which are good. Got it. In that case, I'd recommend durock linears; they're good.

Gateron ones are good budget linears, Yellow is fan favorite with its weight.
Durock linears are fantastic, very smooth, tight housing tolerance and phenomenal stem wobble.
Though it’s downside it’s that they’re heavily factory lube and the factory lube isn’t that great, off center presses can have a bit of jamming towards the north (when using south facing PCB at least).
Though it can be easily fixed with proper lubing, though I’m unsure how effective and long lasting it will be on top of the factory lube.

I thought I was imagining it but it’s true, my water king sample actually feel sluggish, do you know what kind of lube they’re using?

A lot lot of factory whatever and they also have pretty tight housings
Need a good cleaning and relubing

No-one said vintage blacks yet.

well i can't complain about my gat silent red, although they need break in or lube, after a few week they are smooth enough.
and no one mentioned vintage black because since cherry retooled and gat/kailh exists vintage blacks just became a pain in the ass to use overpriced switch, they are no smoother than modern black.
to get back to the original question, it also depend on your budget, if you want best bang for the buck then gateron is pretty much it, if you want the smoothest thing that can exist then you will need to go optical/magnetic/electro-capasitive but then it also mean completely different boards as you do no longer deal with switches per say.

My friend loves his lubed Gateron Ink Blacks, however, can't say they'll be in stock though.

Lubed gateron yellows are my go-to. They're ubqiuitous at this point. I've also heard good things about the mints from Dinokeys

Cherry MX Blacks. Always my #1 Pick.

I used MX Blacks for a good 5 years or so. I didn't really know a whole lot about keyboards back then and was coming from MX Browns. For five years I did not know that it was a linear switch, and that there was no tactile feedback. It was funny going back to that board recently after using buckling springs for a year.

I'm still leaning towards cherry hyperglides blacks. nobody says anything about them. Strange.

Are there any contactless magnetic switches you can use out of the box? I've heard through multiple channels it's a complicated task, but they feel so damn good.
