Title: Aftermarket IBM SDL PS/2 cable?
Post by: phototristan on Thu, 26 August 2010, 16:32:44
I received  a Model M from an eBay seller and included was an aftermarket SDL to PS/2 cable that I really like. The connector says AMP on it.

What I like about this cable is that the coils are more in the middle of the cable so actually I don't see them since they hang behind the desk. Cable is beige but with a black connector on the SDL side.

Anyone know a good source for this or similar cables? Actually, I prefer a non coiled beige cable if they are available anywhere?

Yea, I'd love to find a source for round uncoiled cables. I called Unicomp and the person I talked to, Jim, said he had not heard of such a thing.

The IBM SDL cables will say "AMP" on them too.

The one I received from the eBay seller has a boot like the connector on the right. It has coils but only in the very middle part of the cable, not too bad.

What I really want to find is a cable like the middle picture though.
