Title: Split Keyboard Recommendations?
Post by: pome on Wed, 28 July 2021, 03:36:13
I've been curious about ergo keyboards for a while now but haven't really thought about getting one until I recently started developing some wrist pain. I'm almost ready to pull the trigger on either an Iris or Lily 58, but I wanted to get a couple more recomendations and opinions.

I'm fine with soldering and number keys would be nice but aren't a necessity

If you have wrist pain then I think the most important feature for you is "tenting": that each half can be tilted sideways.
I would look for a kit that offers that or find a way to build a tenting solution yourself.

There is a Split keyboard layout comparison site (https://jhelvy.shinyapps.io/splitkbcompare/) that includes the most popular split keyboards. From there you can also download the layouts to print out on paper, for trying out before you buy.
