A board inspired by older keyboards with the Large “foreheads” and adding a mixture of curiosity

Why is it different from other boards: For it to be a reversible angle you have to over come the “issue” that if you put the USB C on the bottom of the case the port would have to face you, which is less than ideal. The solution is rather simple, just put the port on top of the case. Typically there isn’t enough room for that but because the Tilted40 rocks the Kickbutt buttowski headgear there is more than enough room.

You will be able to mix and match top and bottom colors how ever you would like in order to make your preferred combination

PCB: will be solder only and will be QMK and Via supported

cnc’d FR4

Ever since I joined this hobby I have always wanted an cnc’d FR4 G10 board. Keep in mind FR4 is just the rating the material is G10. yes the same stuff that is used for pcb. It’s quite affordable at low moqs and has a good weight/sound.

Since I was able to achieve my own, why not share it with you. I will be running a small run of the FR4 boards that will have a lead time for 2 months and a price ranging about 160-170 for a whole kit. It will only be the WKL version and only support 7u and 313.

There will likely be multiple rounds of the FR4 version given the short lead times that will run before and after the metal GB since its a good metal alternative and is much cheaper.

Protos:

I am currently only in possession of v1 protos, v2 are currently being made and should be done this upcoming week or the week after. With that being said v1 was a success in that it works, but that doesn’t mean things couldn’t be improved. Some changes made between v1 and v2 is that I added more tabs on the plate because the polycarbonate plate had too much flex and was cause a rattle also changed the acoustic cuts quite a bit, lastly I moved the USB port to align with the left column.

TL:DR for streamers, reviewers and people with lil ones

Basically this is a 12u staggered 40s with 2 columns
Only really needed key for support that differs from base kit is r3 1.25u tab

Its puts the usb port on top of the case allowing the bottom to be turn 180 degrees changing the angle between positive and negative

I am the designer of the board but it will be produced, sold, and fulfilled by Createkeebs creators of vast60 and thera75. They are also a commonly used Manu.

There will be two GBs first is FR4 pricing of 160-170 and will for now only have 1 vendor unless interest increases it will be limited to 100 max. Will be v1 of pcb meaning only 313 and 7u. Will be sold by rocketkeyboards

Second GB will be unlimited and is gonna be able to be mixed and matched (yes, ik that is a logistical nightmare but since createkeebs has shown me they can do it successfully with little error on GBs selling 300+ orders I feel comfortable)

You may have noticed the plate is different from the breakdown render assuming you didnt read the protos section its because I am prototyping a v2 as when i used a polycarbonate plate the sides were flexy enough to touch the bottom of the case with minimal effort

Lastly please actually fill out IC and Leave comment; for a small designer like me IC responses is how i know what you want. I don’t have a discord because there are already too many of those as is, so you leaving a comment or filling out the form even if something you dont like about it helps a ton.

this could be possible I would have to do it post because the manu doing the metal isn’t the same doing the FR4, but it wouldn’t be too expensive to do. Just would be another step.

this is a great question I am actually about to test this out as my rep just didnt tell me they offer a sanding service, i will tell you how the results go
