Title: Deciding On Second Keyboard Choices
Post by: euro3er on Sat, 25 September 2021, 08:22:59
Hello everyone,

I'm looking at purchasing my second keyboard and wanted to get some opinions from the community.

Currently looking at the Mode65 and want to go after a more deep thoccy sound. I was thinking of going with the polycarbonate top and bottom case, black POM plate, plate foam, hotswap PCB, and black silicone case. Was going to put some linear switches for a smooth experience. I'm thinking this will give me the best deeper and thoccy sound, as opposed to higher pitched if I went with an aluminum case and different plate material.

Any thoughts? I always have a difficult time deciding on plate material. My current keyboard is a GMMK Pro with PC plate, glorious pandas, and durock v2 stabs.

Question, are you trying to build something similar to your GMMK Pro but in 65% or trying to get something different? I'm thinking your Mode build will have a similar feel/sound as your GMMK Pro. If that's the case, then proceed. That's the gotcha with Mode, so many options, haha.
