Possibility of a price drop to 150USD if there is enough interest. MOQ is 50 for this price.
Update 4:
The Kamo60 will be compatible with all universal 60% PCBs. (hot-swap PCB not recomended as the plates are multi-layout)
Plate files will be made public after GB.
Weight will be roughly 1kg without PCB.
Update 3:
Updated price. New price will be 250 USD.
Update 2:
Got quote from manufacturer. Price will be 350 USD with projected order quantity of 20 units. Price still subject to change depending on interest.
Update 1:
Revised placement for mounting tabs.
The Kamo60 is a top mount 60% keyboard with burger-mount compatibility.
Being a car enthusiast I wanted to incorporate some design traits from one of my favorite european sedans, the 1995 BMW M5 Touring.
With that being said I present to you...

As mentioned, the design is inspired by the 1995 BMW M5 Touring. With its sharp angles and sleek wagon shape, it is truly a beautiful car.
I tried to incorporate the sloped rear windscreen and the aggressive stance of the car into the bottom rear design of the Kamo60.

If this is below maybe 250 I'm all for it
-
you shouldn't have a mounting point right under the spacebar

Thank you for the feedback, I will change the mounting placement before ordering prototypes.

I'm still waiting on a quote from the manufacturer, but price will also depend on interest.

Looks a little similar to mode65.

Looks a little similar to mode65.
Yes, I was kinda worried about that, but some of the key differences are the chamfers and of course the 60% layout. But I see where you're coming from.
It's also kinda hard to differentiate one self while still keeping a sleek design language since there are so many keyboards out now.
Edit:
As of now I'm also trying to keep the cost down, and adding more design features would raise the machining cost.
-
looks alright if its around 250, ne wkl avail?

I was considering adding WKL and HHKB as an option, but that would increase the manufacturing cost slightly. I will update the IC-form, and if there is any interest for it I might add it as an option.

Don't mind too much about visual similarities. Focus on feel, make it feel better than the mode65 :thumb:

The only thing that will make this interesting is the Price, it looks like every generic I just learned Fusion360 Keyboard. Good luck with IC

I totally agree with the design being generic, but since this is my first IC I didn’t want to make a $500+ keyboard with more intricate and interesting design features. However if this IC goes through and the GB goes well, I might end up trying to get some of my other designs to GB too.

I can appreciate the more "generic" look, keeps the costs down while still being a top mount/well made. Not many 60% that aren't tray mount at this price point.

At this price point I can't imagine not hitting MOQ if this runs late Q1 or Q2 2022. I wish we had more colors though, a nice forest or even olive drab green and/or purple. I'm in for one or two if shipping doesn't kill me and pcb compatibility is good.

That's a pretty decent price. You should order a prototype to test your design after interests has been gathered.

Interested. What type of aluminium? What kind of manu are you in talks with?
-
at 150, this would be a solid buy. the world needs more entry level top mounts
-
$150 would be great for this entry-level board, definitely interested :thumb:

What alu will this use?
-
i really hope to see hotswap compatibility, new to the hobby and i'd be scared lf screwing up a more expensive solder pcb
-
Why does an "inspired by bmw M5" keyboard have a random Japanese word as a name
-
yeah if price changes to the 150-170 range you will for sure have my interest, however the option to order maybe HHKB and/or WKL layout seperately if offered while offering a PCB which supports all layouts (WK, HHKB (if offered) and WKL (if offered) would be a guaranteed buy from me.
having the option to try HHKB and WKL without needing to pay 400+ is a big plus if it happens
-
IC submitted. 150 es bueno

Agreed with the previous posts, WKL and hotswap pcb would be great. You could possibly make a multi layout plate and a WKL/hhkb/tsangan plate like Vega. Proto sound tests would also help a lot
