We have started the Group Buy for the Waka, a very affordable, Pac-man inspired ortholinear DIY kit. It will run until October 25th, no specific time. It might even run over into the next day, it really depends on when I remember to turn the listing off. The base price is $40 USD dollars. We are expecting to start shipping before the end of the year.
The Waka is an FR4 stack kit so it’ll come with PCB, bottom plate, switch plate, a BlackPill, and all the necessary components and assembly hardware. All you’ll need to provide to have a working board is keycaps, stabilizers, and switches. Since this kit uses a BlackPill, it will be USB-C ready right out of the box. If that USB-C isn’t enough bells and whistles for you, we have a literal bell and a not very literal whistle included in the kit. The base kit includes a piezo speaker which you can configure to make lots of fun sounds.

Kit Contents
- Switch plate, PCB, bottom plate
- LED Strip
- BlackPill dev board and all necessary components
- Encoder and knob
- Screws, standoffs, rubber bumpons
The Waka uses a symmetrical layout with two 6x4 key clusters with a little bit of space in between and a slightly staggered, centered bottom row. In the space between the clusters is where the indicator LEDs, BlackPill, and knob live. As with previous releases, you can use a normal MX switch instead of the knob and encoder. The bottom row supports a 7u spacebar, 2-3-2 split spacebars, 2-1-2 split spacebars, and all 1u keys.
