I can't personally see much of a point of coating the housing with a metal plating.

So if internals are coated too, that may be an interesting experiment as stem friction would be now plastic on metal vs plastic on plastic (no idea if the result is good or bad, someone has to try !). But since these coatings tend to flake off really easily I wouldnt count on them lasting for too long...

Think it’s just their mint linears with an external costing, more of a novelty item than anything else, think they were pretty expensive too
