I'm not looking to buy anything this year, but I can give some advice for preparation:
- Shops tend to inflate the prices in the month(s) before so that they could have a larger price drop on Black Friday. Do use price-comparison web sites to spot this, and check what a "normal" price would be for the item you're interested in.
- If a web shop lists having a huge stock of an item compared to others of similar type before the day, chances are that that one will go on the sale.

Tp4 would really like to finally get the 7" miter saw.   Record price is $45 , missed it 2 years in a row.

Probably lowest now is going to be $70.

Wouldn't imagine there's going to be much this year supplies of all kinds of things are constrained.

Wonder if wallywurl gonna have their $200 door buster tvs.

_Not_ that Tp4 recommends anyone buy one without a colorimeter.

Black Friday means less and less each year. Between supply chain issues and the creep of convenience, why does Black Friday even exist anymore?

****ty conservative traditions

It doesn't mean much now, we have prime day, deals every day, and now I buy a lot of stuff used.

Agree. I am sort of a minimalist when it comes to buying things. Unless it matters significantly, I tend to buy the cheapest thing that won't fall apart.

Not the most expensive thing, not the cheapest thing... somewhere in the middle :)

I just bought blon bl03 IEMs and a G203 without thinking about black friday, haha

Also, why a second TV?

Ahh....joined the BLON cult, I see.

j/k I am also a fan of BLON. The BL-03 is a real crowd-pleaser. Warm, bassy tuning. A bit low-res in imaging and instrument reproduction, though. Sort of like vinyl, or that 'vasoline-o-vision' effect on N64.

I am actually a big fan of the BL-01, whose tuning may resemble the Sony IER-Z1R.

The strategy for the BL-03 for most people is usually replacement eartips, such as those from the Sony MH-755 (and clones).

With the BL-01, stock eartips might work. I use the MH-755 ones, and also those fat blue foam ones from AliExpress. The trick with the BL-01 is that it needs to be amped. No question. The sound won't fill out unless there's amp power behind it.

The BL-05s is also kind of fun. It's a more trebly, cooler, and thinner sound than the BL-03, although of similar heritage. I like it for 90s video game OSTs. BL-01 is good for orchestral film soundtracks. BL-03 is good for pop music, ordinary listening music. Bonus about the BL-05s is that it's almost the same colour as the cyan accents in Matt30's 3277 MT3 keycap set.

Tell me about it! Computers in general are really becoming absurd in terms of pricing. This is the new norm, anyone who thinks prices will drop when shipping and manufacturing gets sorted is living in a dreamland.

It's kind of BS too, because computer pricing isn't heavily affected by shipping since the unit items are not very large vs something like refrigerators.

Beware Amazon for electronics like this, especially SSDs.
They bin all common part numbers, and while you will probably get a genuine one, it may have been a model intended strictly for let's say the Asian market.  It will work just fine but if it doesn't some manufacturers will demand you deal with their Asian counterpart for a warranty/return if it's outside the Amazon help window.

I've seen this very thing with an SSD (not mine) but also my cell phone, depending on who you ask was meant for the Candian market, which is why it doesn't always get proper updates*.

*Why would my phone need to be in the intended country to get an update over wifi, it's total nonsense.

Monitor prices aren't so gud' this year.

Even last years' walmart's acer 32"1080p165hz is $200 this year vs $150.

Sooooo.. the best price "today" , for a 32"  2560x1440 ,144hz is the (acer, aopen) 32HC1QUR at $250,  it was $230 a month back.

A 2018 monitor BUT,  BUTTTTT,  it has Wide Gamut.. < if specs are accurate >

HAHAHAHA
Have you not been following things...

A Honda Civic type R just sold for $70k on a dealer showroom floor.
Dealers have 5-10% or less of normal inventory, some with fewer than half a dozen, all with 50% or more in markups. New broncos are selling for $90-100k. My local Mazda and VW both have nothing in the showroom, the plinths out front have used cars from other manufacturers and they have employees parking out the front lot so it looks like they have inventory, inside is a ghost town. The Lincoln dealer looks worse. And you don't even want to see used prices on newer cars either, got something a few years old, it's probably worth what you paid for it.

And it's not just cars.
AMD just announced a 10% price increase.
The owner of Beanie Babies had to charter the better part of a dozen cargo planes to get their inventory here in time for Christmas.

There's no way this gets fixed within a few months let alone a few weeks or even days. Seriously, things are bad.
While there are obvious shortages, a lot of it has to do with companies holding things hostage or hoarding things.

Literally idiots with too much money and zero sense of financial responsibility ruining it for the rest of the planet. I firmly stand by my idea that you need to be able to pass a basic intelligence test to be able to be wealthy.

I decided beforehand that I wasn't going to buy anything for Black Friday/Cyber Monday this year because I always obsess over it and end up spending too much on crap because I think I have to get everything I could possibly ever want while it's cheap.

I waffled on a couple things until the coupon codes were no longer valid, which helped me not spend money. The only thing I ended up buying was Mario Odyssey for $35 at Walmart since I had intended on buying it anyway, so I might as well get $15 off.
