The translucent novelty from R1 would be really nice!
any chance of 40s support being added? always liked this set but it doesn't fit my boards. was hoping if it ever got another run that'd be an easy shoe in.
Has the side print gone? Will they come back.
(also would love 2x 1.5U Supers and an extra 1u Alt. thanks)
Boards have "pg up" but kits have "page up".
This is a hard question...I'm just afraid that 40s kits will not make MOQ, let me talk to the vendors.
gmk Symbiote had a translucent novelty kit, it was really nice imhoThe translucent novelty from R1 would be really nice!
I'm not quite sure about the translucent caps from GMK...
It will return if SA Camping r2 will ever be a thing.

If vendors push back, another option is to include minimal 40s support in the base kit, you just need to add 3 keys minimum:
1.25 r3 tab
1.75 r2 backspace
1.5 r3 enter
This physically covers a good majority of 40s.
+1 for 40s, I think the three key in base solution would work well here if a child kit is out of the question.
Any plans to include F13?it's already included in both base kits
R1 novelties would be nice; still glad to see it come back nonetheless!
looks great, any chance of r3 page up and r4 page down to support the majority of 65% layouts?Secong, since novelties can not cover the right nav column on 65/75, R4 pgdn and R3 pgup are needed in base
i hate to say it, but i'm sad that no sublegend kits will be offered. the burg is nice though.
camping is a classic either way. if the gb is a month away, can you share vendors yet?

I always tend to separate every Camping run, Hiragana belongs to r2 and this time the keyword is burgundy.
Oblotzky convinced me to do a new run, so I gave him the permission to organise with vendors.
What I can share now is, EU:Oblotzky, UK:Prototypist, US:Omnitype, CN:zFrontier. I will share the whole vendor list a bit before the GB starts.

I still wish there was a Hiragana Sub Alt Alphas Kit so we don't have to wait for a Camping in Japan Burgundy Edition in 2025.
Trying my luck again with some questions:
-Is Burgundy a different color than the R2 accent color that was more brown to me?
-Any chance for some Hibi/Thok metal Artisans (I know there is a Salvun but always excited to see more, especially if they make like Enter keys etc)?
-Would you consider doing 2 novelties kit? A green one and a Burgundy one?
I feel we could get more novelties variety that way that will better match the base kit we are going for. I would really love a 1u R2 novelty, and some newer novelties would be nice so we could have something else than just Tents for the R4 1.25 and 1.5 and just something different than the first and second round.
I just feel it would offer so much more diversity instead of duplicates in another color (as well as to avoid some frustration that some novelties are only available in green or burgundy. And could have some more Japan oriented ones in case you reconsider a Hiragana Sublegends Alt Alphas kit).

All colors are the same as r1 and r2, some call it maroon, some call it burgundy, some call it brown. So it is up to your eyes.
Hibi cap is WIP, I'll share the render soon, it is indeed an enter key.
2 different novelty kits is a no go for this run.
As I mentioned, the theme "Japan" remains to r2, I'm sorry about it if this is a disappointment.

Very glad that camping is making a return. The colors are beautiful and it's a classic set. The things I'm confused about are the novelty kit and the overall theme for this run. You've included some weeb novelties from r2 but there is no hiragana sub legend kit nor the arrow keys with sub legends. A sub legend kit just makes sense considering the choices in the novelty kit. Also second, I prefer having novelties for the right nav column of 65/75s
On the other hand, since there are no hiragana subs for this run it would be nice seeing the return of more novs from r1 such as the campfire, stars, and crescent moon(new novs too that align with the classic camping theme!). I still hope that the novelties are subject to change as they are part of what makes this set an all-time great IMO.
Regardless, I will be picking up a basekit anyways since it was the set that got me into the hobby. Thanks for running r3!
TLDR: The novelty kit is confusing to the theme this run and lacks variety. I hope you'll consider adding more novelty keys that are true to the original camping theme even if you're already set on these ones. Feel free to disagree with my nitpicking.

I already expressed my opinion on the novelties but I wanted to echo this comment.
I really feel this R3 could benefit from more varied and coherent novelties.
Why have 2 kanjis novelties without a Hiragana sub-legend alphas kit.
I am not sure how many people will mix and match green and maroon novelties, but if you don't mix and match you really aren't left with much variety at all.
Please reconsider either having 2 separate green and maroon novelties kit with more variety or just revamping the current ones to be more varied and coherent.
Some small updates on this(11/11/2021):Thanks for the update. Though I am somewhat confused as to why announce the US vendor as Omnitype before it has been confirmed.
- physical 40s support will be added to the base kits.
- side prints for ISO support will be added to the base kits.
- more renders are WIP, there are some flaws on the current renders, because they are made by 2 people parallel, the kit renders show what you will get.
- GMK price inquiry will be launched once the kit renders are updated.
- A Hibi brass enter key with the mountain novelty engraved and PVD coated in silver will be available, renders are expected during the weekend.
- 2 Salvun R1 caps with the camp fire novelty (the same novelty from the r2 Rama cap) will be available, renders are WIP.

EU: Oblotzky industries
UK: Prototypist
CA: Apexkeyboard

Because Omnitype is the US vendor since beginning of this project and we agreed on GB slot, but we are still working on some last details.
This is going to have front-printed UK ISO?

Did something happen? Did Omnitype to drop out or was there a pre announcement go awry?
Historically Kono pricing of sets has been much higher than other tier 1 vendors.
Great to hear that you have a good relationship with them… but a lot has changed in since 20117, when they ran the first round. The sentiment of a lot of people that have been in the hobby for a bit towards Kono is not the most positive, there was even a small conversation in the Top Clack server that they would rather buy from other overseas proxies than from Kono. Some small updates on this(11/11/2021):Thanks for the update. Historically Kono pricing of sets has been much higher than other tier 1 vendors.
This is official now, we will go with Kono for the US because we couldn't agree on some details with Omni.
About pricing, it's agreed with Kono that the base kits will not exceed $130 at GB price, I'll make sure that the other kits and artisans are priced in-line with other runs and reasonable.
I personally have a good relationship and history with Kono, with them being the US vendor for GMK Camping r1 and they have thousands on the waiting list for Camping to return.
So I think I'm more confident doing this with them again.

I know, I feel sad that I eventually need to switch the US vendor.
This is kinda odd to me too, I used to talk to every vendor directly, but with Omni, Oblotzky was talking to them all the way because he had me convinced for a r3 and I trust him for everything.
It was my bad to announce the vendors before agree on everything.
I do have good experience with Kono so far and trust they will put every effort in this project.
If your concern is only about pricing, I think that's cleared out with them agreed on the $130 base pricing, not? It'd have been about the same with the other vendors.
If revisions to novelty kitting are at all possible, I too would love to see the fish 1u and backspace from R1 (and the translucent fire, even if it's a pipe dream) included again.
updates 18/11/2021:
- Revised the base kit renders
- Added 2 new keyboards renders
- We are now waiting for the GMK quote, pricing will be revealed once the quote is received.
Will you be selling a numpad only set. The colours here look really good, but I can't justify buying the whole set for just 21 keys
There are R4 Pgdn and R3 Pgup in a lot of your renders, will you add these to the base kit since they're not there atm?

I didn't notice this, I'll talk to the vendors once the GB is concluded and see if it's possible to add 2 more keys to each base.
+1
Why talk to the vendors only after the GB is concluded though?

My (relatively uneducated) guess is that adding those two keys would affect the price, so it's likely they're waiting to see if final numbers are high enough that a larger order would offset the price increase for those two keys. Just my guess based off other sets including extra keys based on final numbers after the GB had concluded (Cafe and Metaverse R2 come to mind)
