Title: Vintage Cherry Blue MX? $27 shipped
Post by: didjamatic on Sat, 11 September 2010, 18:18:29
Yellow mama (http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-Unitek-Keyboard-K-150m-/320560018261?pt=PCA_Mice_Trackballs&hash=item4aa2ddb355#ht_1749wt_911), but the price is low and is likely Blue Cherry MX switches.  But don't get mad if it shows up with blacks.  Great candidate for Retr0brite and the price shipped is less than some ebayers charge for shipping alone.

It's a lot cheaper than crack smoker's keyboard (http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-Unitek-Keyboard-K-256-FCC-ID-DKW67MK-256-/350276906106?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item518e216c7a#ht_500wt_1154) is.

I have looked at both, that yellow thing wouldn't be worth much unless it has blues. I wonder how many more offers that second guy is going to blow off. I didn't offer him much.

It was made in Taiwan, just to let you know. I don't know if that means much whether or not it got blue cherry switches though.

Now that I look at it again, it seems to be some sort of ALPS kind of situation. In the late 1980's, ALPS moved their keyboard production to Taiwan, and many old Unitek keyboards had ALPS switches.

But I would be cautious with this auction. The picture's kind of fuzzy, and the keyboard's most likely filthy, smokey, and damaged (Like another ALPS keyboard we got from RNS Auctions with a similar-quality picture). Alps switches also don't wear all that well either so there could be some bad keyswitches as well.
