Can anyone tell me where I can get the Realforce 87U 55g (black)? Looks like it's only available from Leopold (http://www.leopold.co.kr/?doc=cart/item.php&it_id=1259715970) but I'm not quite sure they'll ship to Canada! ;-)
Thanks!

Leopold will ship to Canada, but they don't take paypal or overseas credit cards, so you have to go through a buyer, who will add a twenty percent of cost fee. If you're lucky, you'll find someone in Canada or US, who is willing to sell theirs used.
-
Well, that information isn't current.
I guess someone who's serious could email them, to get a more current response from Leopold. The last geekhacker on here who mentioned buying from Leopold, said they used a buyer. I'm not sure if that was this year or last, though, I'd have to look it up.
Personally, I haven't made it past their member registration form, to test the internet direct only method, either. It normally gets upset that I don't enter a Social Security # and in chrome it doesn't let me enter an address. But I know it wouldn't let me continue ordering without registering.
Getting lucky and finding a fellow American to sell me a used variable board happened, before leopold, in my case.

Weird space bar too...
I'm also very interested in the 87U 55g...
-
Missed the 55g part. Yah, I think that after Elitekeyboards sold the last of them that's it unless you go through a broker. I'm not even sure if Cleverly in Akihabara has the 55g.
Word on the street is that this keyboard will be difficult if not impossible to find NIB outside of Korea.
-
I guess I'll wait and see if it is ever available again from Elitekeyboards. Thanks for the info!

Looks like Topre are going out of their way to make it almost impossible to order their product internationally! I hope it's not the same with all other Topre product he's offering! I'm planning to get a second 103UB 55g in a few weeks...

Elitekeyboards implied it was no more and didn't indicate that there was anything new on the horizon. The horizon meaning this year and part of the new year. 86U is going to be the only game for a while. 91Us are the other game.
It didn't seem that the 87U variable was any easier to obtain than the 55g, especially NIB.
As indicated by shiny spots, I don't hit the space bar outside of the three key zone on the Japanese layout, so the space bar has always been the least of my worries, as far as that went.

From what I understand there won't be. There may be a 55g version of the 86U, but nothing has been confirmed yet. As Ripster's link attests though, they are planning to stick with the 86U.

It sounds like a standoff on pricing, quantity or other requirements between Elite and PFU. Interesting that it doesn't apply to the 86u, but maybe they had overstock of that board since everyone is hot for the 87u.
I certainly hope SOMEONE will bring WHITE 87u's to the USA. I still don't know if I'd prefer the variable or all-55g version and I've used both side-by-side, extensively. I do know I would like to have a thocky version and a low noise version.

Add me to the list of North Americans who would buy a white Realforce 87u keyboard if one were available without jumping through expensive hoops (is the white model still on sale at Leopold? I can only find the black one). I enjoy oneness with cup rubber on my 86u, but I would prefer right alt to be easier to reach.
-
Add me to the list too, I want a white 87u in the USA.
-
Whoever decides to import a bunch will be our hero because I want a white one too...the LED keys are just so smexy
-
Bummer. I'm already back from Japan.
I hate you! ;-)

Made me think the staff wipes down all the keyboards at the end of the day or the Japanese wash their hands more than Americans.
The Japanese made up that whole "bowing" thing in the early 1900s so they wouldn't have to shake hands with dirty Americans.

they prolly heard that americans don't wash their hands after taking a #2, which is about 1000x worse than not washing after #1.

don't tease. You were refusing requests even before you left.
