Title: [IC] Mokulua - 65% Alice-like Split DIY Kit

Say Aloha (Hello in Hawaiian) to MechWild’s next board, the Mokulua, named after the Mokulua islands, a pair of islands off the coast of Oahu.

This is our first split board and we went with a 65% Alice-style layout. Both halves use Pro Micros and the halves connect using USB-C ports. This kit will be another FR4 sandwich kit but with a twist! The bottom plate will be laser cut acrylic this time.

Currently, the prototype uses a reversible PCB so the right half stagger is a bit different from traditional boards. We are working on a right half PCB with a more typical layout. Other changes we are making are changing the screw placement and OLED cutout. We are deciding on what final appearance the acrylic bottom plates should have. We are also considering some acrylic embellishments to go on top of the board.

i think you should consider having it be easier to get keycaps for the board, i dont see the point in having to use a 40s kit for a cheap stacked fr4 board that could also just support ansi/iso enter

I love the idea, but what you call the "mirrored" right half looks like it has the more common layout to me.  It's the "non-mirrored" right half that seems off - It has the 7 key positioned to the left of Y.

The reason for the non-mirrored is for the row stagger. Compare the positions of Y and H on the mirrored half to another row stagger board and you can see the difference.

I'm hyped for it, would probably look for non-mirrored for me just because of the touch-typing adjustment. I can get used to the numbers moving easier than the letters.
