Title: diy keyboard stabiliser problem
Post by: Kaijo on Tue, 08 February 2022, 14:39:35
I have just put my keyboard together, I'm using the c3 equals v3 stab kit and idk why the right side isn't working the stabs move at the same time fine, wire stays in and they move up and down fine without a keycap
Here's a video for reference

looks like the left side of the cap is lifting off the stem of the stabilizer.
... bad fitting spacebar. (space bar too loose on stem of stabilizer)

try a slice of paper to stuff in the cap along side the stem of the stabilizer.

-or stab wire not inserted into stem of stabilizer. (stab not put together correctly)

Thank you 🙏 I'll try that after work, I feel like the wire is ok when I was moving the stabs up and down from the stem the wire was moving on both sides simultaneously on both sides

then it's probably just a loose fitting cap. ... the + stretched out somehow

Yep, 100% the left side of the space bar is coming off of the stabilizer.  Tape, plastic wrap, teflon tape, etc... will fix it up.  I would put some on both stems because if one is loose, they're probably both a bit loose.

It's just so odd because I tried using a different space bar because my set came with like 5, though only 1 extra that is my size and it had the same issue. I suppose they could both have the issue

Yes, very likely.  It's a combination of the stabilizer stems being too open and the stabilier inserts being too small.  It's a common problem.
