There is no absolute best. It depends on what you do on your pc and how you do it.

It is a matter of preference.

Edit: I just noticed the title says editor. I only used firmware based editors to modify my layout, so this is highly keyboard dependent. But I also modify shortcuts inside the softwares I use most (games, text/code editors, terminal emulators/zsh, etc).
