Got 14 unused packs of AutoCad 2004 out of the trash at work today. Worth about $100 apiece, this has got to be my best find ever! I could probably buy three M15's with it.

i'm surprised more people dont make a living out of dumpster diving and ebay. I'm raking it in just from selling my own garbage.

Too bad you didn't find it and sell it before the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled last week in favor of Autodesk against entrepreneur Craig Vernor who resells software on eBay (http://www.law.com/jsp/cc/PubArticleCC.jsp?id=1202472071061&When_Is_a_Sale_Not_a_Sale_When_Software_Changes_Hands). In fact this ruling may have something to do with why that stuff was in the dumpster!
I don't think you can legally sell it now. Practically speaking there is probably nothing stopping you from trading or whatever, just likely can't list it on ebay.
Who knows, could get reversed again like just happened so hang on to it.

Ebay's not the only way to sell stuff.

MSW, are we talking full size dumpster diving? I've never really seen anything worth looking for if i'm honest, but then again i've never looked properly. I saw some 15" CRTs going at school a while back, but they weren't good enough for me to even consider one. That's a pretty outrageous idea. And wellington, i'd buy a half eaten burger from your trash anyday, yum.
