Title: [IC] flash 60% WKL | GB Closed
Post by: keypport on Mon, 12 September 2022, 11:17:28
60% WKL, Top Mount, 3.1kg

She is small but strong

As a fan of anime, I tried to melt the character's mood into the housing.
I designed it to be simple, but to reveal individuality.
It contains structural characteristics that I like.
Top mount, 8 deg, brass bottom, 3.1kg.

Color: Gold color fixed.

Design Interpretation
1. Removed the screw around the spacebar, which presses harder when typing compared to other keys.
2. To reduce distance deviation, 5 screw holes are placed in a 'W' shape.

Brass Bottom

Why Use Brass?
The keyboard doesn't necessarily have to be heavy. Especially for gasket mounting.
However, heavy brass has the advantage of damping vibrations when using a foamless top mount.

Section Analysis
Reduced the gap between the floor and the PCB by raising the floor height except for switches, stabilizers, and small component locations.

this is not an IC, you have pricing and sales date

by a soft cap of 50 do you mean an moq of 50?

Yes. Soft cap stands for moq.
I wanted to get more feedback, so I uploaded it to IC. It can be changed.

I'll ask for more samples of the anodized texture.
I would also consider the raw aluminum option as an alternative.

Soft cap really doesn't stand for moq.

Holy ****, these days I don't know if it's more complicated to do a project or to get people's definition of IC right.

Holy ****, these days I don't know if it's more complicated to do a project or to get people's definition of IC right.
I thought everything should be fixed at the GB level.
I would like to improve through feedback.
Do you think this should be moved directly to GB?

No, I meant it looks like people is more focused in trying to tell what is an IC and what is not than enjoying the product or giving just feedback

You post an IC, and you'll get one of two responses:
-"This is not an IC at all, you need to put some more effort it."
-"This is not an IC at all, there's no room for change at all."

the original post is a gb post not an ic post

1. nowhere in the original post does the OP mention anything that they are looking for feedback on, they only mentioned it afterwards
2. there is no form, how is OP going to gauge interest without an IC form
3. it is not more difficult to post in the GB section, it’s literally the exact same process
4. 10 days is not enough time to make any meaningful changes and get new protos so why even IC at that point

hopefully that clears up my comment

I understand.
I wrote "No" for other layouts and hotswap PCB support in the FAQ and set the price and schedule.
It's not just an IC that starts from rendering, and it's a project where my tastes are firmly fused.
But I wanted to talk about your favorite color or what material you would like to use for the aluminum plate (5052 or 6061), etc.
I agree that reply is insufficient space to accommodate many comments, so let's add a Google IC form.

What's up with that layout? Are you sure that you're splitting right shift the correct way?

Regarding anodizing
I got feedback on the rough texture of the anodizing I produced as a prototype.
I contacted the factories to solve the problem.

This is a color sample.

Flash to be manufactured will be smoother than the sample.

Yes. Based on the feedback received from IC, the contents of the GB were confirmed.
Now waiting for moderator's GB thread approval.

Updated.
The base kit sells for $300.
Additional discounts will be applied to shipping charges after global sales are aggregated.
For example, if more than 200 units are sold, you will be charged $0 shipping for East Asia and SEA, and $20 shipping for NA, EU and Oceania regions.

Updated PCB Price
Flash's PCB is yellow and has a small keypport character logo on it.

To keep the price down, I started H60 JST Group Buy for Koreans.

The changed prices are as follows:
Solderable PCB:  $45 -> $39
Daughterboard & JST cable: $10 -> $9
