Title: The addiction cotinues (bought another keyboard)

I don't know what the hell is wrong with me!  I just keep buying keyboards :(

Does anyone know much about this board?  It appears to use clicky pre-bigfoot alps switches, and *appears* in good shape considering the age.

Does anyone have one of these or anything like it?

I know it's been relisted at least 3 times.  Small backspace, L enter and AT connector mean it's old and odds are it's mechanical.  Could be a good one, I debated on it each time it was relisted.

I will post some pics when it arrives.  It was a cheap impulse buy :)

I wonder if any GH members have been on the show 'Hoarders'...

I was thinking of that show when I picked my new Custom User Title,

Hoarding keyboards would be pretty awesome but would make for a crappy show... not dirty enough, and it would make you look like a huge nerd on national TV. As a creepy side note, I saw this one episode where dead cats and other dead animals were found in the dilapidated house'o'garbage.

fwiw, I keep all mine in a big legal filing cabinet at my office.  They do not invade the house, with the exception of the ones in use (2 customizers and 1 Filco)

Sounds like MW's basement.

:faint2:

I was starting to think I was the only person with one of these -- no info on the mysterious "Ancer Groop" in Google.  But now...

"There is another."

This keyboard is a Datacomp DFK191 rebadge.  Real ALPS switches, pad printed keys.  Here's a semi-crappy photo I took of mine:

(Yes, I game with ESDF.  How could you tell?)

It looks pretty good for an ancient keyboard.  I didn't notice any pad wear on the particular one I bought, but will know for sure when it arrives.  Very few black keyboards from that era, I wonder what computer it was for?  Regardless, good to know I am not alone :)

PS: Where's the best place to get a red esc key?

You walk backwards and thus away from the action too much mate.

Unless of course you are storming backwards towards the action. That would make you pretty awesome ^^

I got mine from Signature Plastics (thread (http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?t=9737)).

Knowing the maps pays off.  Now you're dead because you heard me moving from around a corner and assumed I was facing the same direction.  :bounce:

Between this kind of anti-flanking maneuver in FPS games and vehicle braking in sandbox games I give my D key a workout.

Knowing the maps is overrated.

Frontal charging and engaging the enemy in honorable straight-up combat is the only true way of doing battle!

My K/D on just about any FPS? Around 1, always :D
(Usually slightly over, I attribute that to the element of surprise which sometimes enables me to kill a group of several people. This of course get's cancelled out by the countless deaths I experience when charging straight up, screaming "FREEDOOOOOOM!" ... hence: K/D of around 1 ^^)

This arrived in pretty good shape.  The spacebar stabilizer was dislodged, and I had to open up the keyboard to reattach it.  But other than that, pretty good.  Way ahead of its time for looks- it looks like a modern keyboard.  I went ahead and put a red esc key on it as a finishing touch.
