Title: [GB] Gateron Blue Bubblegum R2
Post by: caughtquick on Wed, 26 October 2022, 01:05:07
First off, thank you all for the support of the first round of the Gateron Blue Bubblegum Linear switch. Since we have gotten many inquiries and interest around the world, we have decided to run a round 2! This switch features a new gold-plated spring to reduce spring ping and crunch as well as a north-facing Cherry compatible top housing to allow for more compatibility.

Group Buy Dates:
October 27th - November 21st

Fulfillment:
Q1 2023

Specs:
POM Stem
INK Bottom Housing
Nylon PA66 Top Housing
55g Actuation
65g Bottom Out
4.00mm Travel
MX Style
PCB Mount (5 Pin)

The color scheme was chosen to incorporate both the colors of the Blue Rasberry and standard Bubblegum flavors, with the name giving homage to these aesthetic choices. The materials were chosen to retain the smoothness and feel of the much loved Gateron Black Inks while using a nylon top to lower the pitch of the switch and a 65g spring rather than the heavier 80g spring in the Black Inks. This switch will come in at 70c per switch in the US and similarly priced in the rest of the world, adding taxes. The switch will also be unlubed.

Ordered 105 of these from zfrontier a couple months back...And I gotta say, these were the absolute worst stock switch I've felt in a couple years now. I have around 4000 unused switches sitting around in batches of 60-110 switches, so its not like I have a shortage of samples to go by.

Scratchy, pingy, crunchy mess. It's actually kind of impressive just how bad they are.

Colors are great, but completely unusable as a stock switch.

Sorry to hear that was your experience. Most content creators have said they’re perfectly usable stock though did do well with lube. I do concede the springs were a bit pingy but we’ve attempted to address that with a gold plated spring this time around.

LOL. Don't buy unlubed switches if you plan to use them stock.
