Title: isopropyl alcohol removed blue switch click
Post by: poopeejohnson on Wed, 26 October 2022, 13:05:31
When any of my blue switch keys start having key chatter, I apply a few drops of isopropyl alcohol and pressing and blowing into the switches. This usually removes the key chatter. For example, today I had key chatter on my W key so I did the usual steps and it got fixed, however, a few hours later my D key started having key chatter so I did the usual steps to remove key chatter and it got removed but after about 30 mins, the D key lost its click. I tried the usual key chatter removal steps again and it temporarily regained its click but then lost it after about 20 mins. What can I do to restore the blue switch click without desoldering?

On first glance I read it as: "Rowdy's sick of common answers .... "

and assumed that it was going to be a list of FAQ-type stuff that keeps popping up with annoying frequency.

the fix to your problem is to just buy a new keyboard, first it won't chatter if you buy a good one and if you get a good one with hotswap you could get kalih box jade/navy/white/pink for even better clickiness than blues

What makes a keyboard quality? Is there certain makes or switches that do/ do not get key chatter?

also from what i heard worn out hotswap sockets and badly applied solder cause the chatter, i'd reccomend getting a good quality mechanical keyboard from vendors like epomaker, keychron, akko, kbd fans etc. they won't let you down as long as you will watch reviews

do this to all your switches until you have a linear switch keyboard
