Budweiser paid $75M to sponsor the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
They must be pleased that this announcement somehow wasn't made until today.
Let's all lift a glass to the separation of church and state !

Tp4 is not fundamentally anti_alcohol.
But he is very weary of the system of capitalism which hijacks the minds of the populace to indulge to excess.
Are there negative downstream cascading effects ? Research and observation seem to indicate yes !

I would expect alcohol to be banned in Quatar, because it is a muslim country. But did the games ban non-alcoholic beer as well?
In some markets, non-alcoholic beer is the only beer that you are allowed to advertise anyway (even though companies use the same brands for alcoholic beer as well ... which gets around that rule in practice).
BTW. in the '80s, some enterprising nut-head tried to sell beer to Saudi Arabia: It was sold in freeze-dried form, and did of course not contain any alcohol. My dad tasted it and said it was awful.

Should be in a place where
If Qatar is going to colossal lengths to enhace its image through https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sportswashing (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sportswashing), is it actually going to succeed?
In the end I wonder whether it will achieve the benefit it sought.
