Kinda interesting mate, GLWIC!
-
Interested in this project. Would like to see more on the internals though.
By o-ring gasket mount, do you mean strips of viton o-ring used like the Geonworks F1 and F2 series of boards?
-
Gummy o-ring like bakeneko65 - the blocker is not solid, there is an undercut. Edited main post to clarify. I'll upload some pics later so its more obvious..

Thank you for the clarification!
I did suspect so based on the photos but just wanted to make sure.

am i the only one when i see "gasket mount" i just become uninterested in the keyboard?
-
Saab needs a Saag, love the side profile and the price point is a bonus too.
-
both of the patone colors in the IC are great, as a 3rd i wanted to suggest a nice dark gray i guess similar to the prototype. gunmetal gray.
-
Interesting side profile, can't wait to see further projects of this prototype
-
This looks very promising, would love to get more photos of that prototype!
Avidly looking to hear more from this, and you as a designer! GLWIC

The new colour looks really nice, waiting for a typing test to see how this bad boy sounds. GL WIC

-
Pics of the forest green ano added :)

It's ok I understand your perspective. This mounting method and format has been done many times. But like I said it is a good foundation to make my first keyboard from. I will be branching out to other mounting methods in future keyboard designs

Updates on the project
-
Added more soundtests, courtesy of Fluffykeebz. I have made more plate materials and the final burgundy sample. Stay tuned for more sound tests and pictures.
-
The left shift cutout on the plate picture does not look wide enough to support split left shift.

Yeah, this. You need an additionally wider cutout to the right of the LShift stabiliser for the switch to fit in there (it's pipe in ISO-UK).
I hope you can actually hit $200 USD for this. If your price in GBP is anything close to the equivalent of that I'm buying two, honestly.

Good eye.Just uploaded pictures of the burgundy on discord and instagram
-
Carbon fiber plate option, gummy o-ring, and a beautiful side profile? Count me in.
-
Some more updates and pictures of the burgundy board courtesy of Zizz
I really want to start the group buy but I want to wait for some more soundtests
Proto unit has been sent to Lewis Toh for review
The final proto has much nicer finishing than the previous units
I have updated the plate design to accept screw-in stabilisers
Shipping rates and websites are almost done. There will be no regional vendors, I have shipping partners around the world to keep shipping low
PP Plate option added
E-white option removed, cherry blossom pink ano added (Pantone reference PMS 263 C)
Waiting for sound tests for CF or POM before GB. Will try and do soundtests of Alu and PP during GB

Burgundy is absolutely gorgeous. Well done!

A little bit nervous to learn you're doing this all yourself and not using regional vendors. I'm not sure if that was always the plan or not. I get that low cost is your priority, and I suppose buyers can protect themselves a bit by using credit cards and such, but still. Maybe reconsider on that?

It was always my plan. I am using shipping partners that I have had relationships with for years. I have decided against using keyboard vendors for several reasons which include cost, communication, trust and efficiency
If you are concerned please DM me on discord and I'll explain my logistic process.

It's more to do with me trusting the major, stable vendors to give me my money back in the event of issues. I'm pretty sure that applies to other regions too like the US. If we all buy through you personally we basically have no recourse in the event that this goes wrong. Things like MoonTKL are fresh in my mind.
To be clear I'm not saying I anticipate this going wrong but it's nice to have the security of a vendor if it does. Honestly there's other 65%s, not quite as elegant as this but nice enough, on the horizon soon too. Best of luck as you move into GB.

that side profile looks absolutely sick!
