I just picked up two of these, and they have seven more left. Pretty much the best CRT ever made, after those sony 24" wide crt displays... Anyway, these are damn near impossible to find now, especially at this price.
Linky (http://cgi.ebay.com/NEC-MultiSync-FP2141SB-22-inch-CRT-Monitor-/220679532206?pt=Computer_Monitors&hash=item3361866eae)
I know it's not a keyboard, but a lot of users here are big crt fans.
-
Wish I could get one to run in 640x480. The smaller the resolution + the bigger the screen = easier to see.
-
These will run 640x480 just fine.

I'd go for it if I didn't already find some FD Trinitron G1s (for PC use) and a MultiSync XV29 Plus (for retrogaming; shadow mask with a coarse dot pitch, though) already, at much lower prices.
But these are NIB, so I would expect them to not have color drift and such other flaws that tend to crop up in used CRTs. (Or scratched screens. Especially scratched screens.)

Yeah I know, but the shipping would cost me many body parts. If I lived down in them states, it would make life so much easier... when buying things from ebay.
And yes! I like 640x480. It's a good resolution. I'm using it right now to write this... mmmmm.
And... listening to... some OPL3.

If AccurateIT had the monitors in the OP, they would be charging 500$+ for them...

maybe someone is looking for a CRT under $200. maybe someone is looking for a supplier with a steady inventory :)
AccurateIT has 2x Sony GDM-FW900 listed on eBay (http://cgi.ebay.com/24-SONY-GDM-FW900-FLAT-Wide-CRT-Trinitron-Monitor-NR-/370433356913?pt=Computer_Monitors&hash=item563f8c7471) too. $219 /ea.

I have a Dell P992 with a Trinitron Tube. I really want a Sony GDM-FW900 for Christmas but it will cost a lot to ship :(

My bad, I thought you were suggesting that Accurate had a better deal or something.
-
I picked up a fw900 on craigslist for 50 bucks a few months ago. it's in fantastic condition, but on craigs you never know. honestly if you are willing to drive a little way you can find some deals through a craigslist search site.
-
I bought a 21" Trinitron monitor from 2003 for $5. All I got to say is I love it.
-
Shipping is only $90.
-
I have a couple of these, well both same tube, one another model number and they are really great, dont know if I would give 200, I won the first on ebay for £2.38 (I gave him 3 quid) and £20 for the other which I was told had been got as a spare and sat in the back room for 4~5 years.
As for those Sony 24" wide CRTs, I really dont know what people see in them ...pun intended.

1080p widescreen and BNC support is one of several reasons :)

Shipping is only $90.
that is normal.
if anybody is interested AccurateIT has 2 used Sony GDM-FW900 24" CRT available on eBay. they have minor to moderate blemishing on the anti-glare. $219 /ea $99 shipping. these are not listed on the AccurateIT website.

Man if I had more desk depth I would be loving that FW900. Because my desk space is small, I have to settle with a dell 2209WA running at 76hz refresh.
Poop.
-
Not bad, rare to find these things boxed.
Got a NEC Mitsubishi Diamond Plus 220 on the desk right now! Need to write this up I think.

I wouldn't say it's that rare. Not many people are overly anxious to unwrap CRTs these days.

Damn you beat me with that deal! I got the same thing a couple of weeks ago for €10+€5 delivery (about $21 total). It came with no VGA cable included though. With the cheap cable I have at the moment, ghosting appears due to signal reflections at modes like 1600x1200x100Hz. A new high quality cable would cost more than the monitor... But anyway the monitor is indeed awesome. It has some "Color return" function in the OSD menu, which really improved the original colors dramatically. Besides, one can always use a software/hardware calibration tool if perfect colors are needed.

This is what they see in the FW900. (http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=952788)
And along with this. (http://www.youtube.com/results?search_type=videos&search_query=fw900&search_sort=video_date_uploaded&suggested_categories=26%2C28%2C20%2C24&uni=3)
Nice thing about that NEC is not only can it do 1600x1200, but you can even push it to 2048x1536@86Hz.
-
I bought two of the monitors in the OP... Came NIB as advertised. woo!
-
I'm seriously considering the Samsung SM2233RZ 22" LCD. Image quality is no better than a regular TN based LCD but it is 120hz (real, not interpolated). Finally an LCD that is not worse in that aspect than several year old CRTs.
-
Well, I think if I put a CRT that big on my desk it would collapse. I already got a 15" Acerview 34T for the ancient ISA port rig (need the ISA for my chip programmer) as well as two Commodore 1084S screens and a IIgs RGB monitor plus my laptop and loads of tools. (I have a large desk)

All the 120Hz LCD monitors that are real 120Hz like a CRT. Are 80-85% as good as a CRT but an aperture grille CRT will still beat it in image quality, response time(microsecond/nanosecond vs LCD millisecond), and input lag(Some of the 120Hz have 0 input lag).
Also why the 2233RZ?, there's other 120Hz monitors out there (http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1496801). Sure 1920x1080 some would love 1200P and IPS 120Hz but not gonna happen till OLED.
(If your gonna stick to and try and stay with the 1680x1050 120hz and you live in Europe get the Viewsonic 2268WM, much better colors over the 2233RZ).

How much does this thing weigh? I'm thinking 100lbs?
-
About so or close to usually the 20+ inch CRTs were well above the upper 60s; that nec seems to about 77 pounds.
If your referring to the FW900 I think it's about 110 pounds.
-
I bought two, they weight about 75 lbs each.
-
What's the equivalent LCD size of a 22" CRT?
-
well.... I'd say a 21" 16:10 lcd has about the same viewable area...
-
At that shipping price, that CRT would have to be -50$ for any sane person to even consider it. If you want to spend 300-400 dollars there are amazing IPS LCD monitors out there.

All of mine do 2048x1536 some can only manage it a 60Hz, but they have no problem doing so and I have never seen a flicker even when pushed down to 60Hz.
Ok, so only 2 have the BNC connectors, and if I wanted 1080p I could lower the screen rez.
As I said ...I have used a FW900 and like the monitors I use better, I think you can still get new tubes for them, I know I can with mine as there are a lot of CAD/CAM setups that use them and you just order a tube for one of them.

From your link...
"BNC Cable?
So far, nobody in this thread has noticed any improvement from using them. But, if you want to be sure you're getting the best possible video signal to your monitor, you can try getting this high-quality BNC cable. A high-quality cable has heavily shielded individual signal wires as early as possible in the cable run rather than a standard VGA cable that only breaks out into the five individual wires over the last few inches of the cable."
I have both types of BNC cable and have yet to see real improvements, even against my stuff that goes thru 3 tiers of KVM's and about 70 foot of standard cable.

What if you play competitive games or other applications that require a high refresh rate and ultra low response times? I like my IPS monitors just fine, but I still prefer a crt for game playing and game development, and I assure you I am perfectly sane.
-
I have ok LCD's, but I know people with some that they have spent thousands on, and most of the time when seeing any of mine its strange how often I hear them say mine are good, then they go pale when I tell them the cost and show the spares I have in my work room.
But as I said before the ones I got NOS have not lasted as well as the cheaper used ones :(

What's the equivalent LCD size of a 22" CRT?
I just checked and it turns out that a 22" CRT (20.5" viewable) has the same area as that of a 22" 16:9 LCD. The guys at the monitor industry can now be proud to have achieved the same level of consumer deception as that of the CRT times.

Then get a TN, save your money, buy a couple more keyboards and stop complaining. Mike, don't all crazy people say they're sane? :P
-
Or buy your CRT's used.
