Introducing Type-B
GB dates: May 1st to May 15th, starting at $450 / AED 1,651.50
ETA for Shipping: Q4 2023
Available at SandKeys and Cannonkeys
SKME: https://sandkeys.me/product/type-b/
CannonKeys: https://cannonkeys.com/collections/type-b
I've grown rather fond of 60% boards lately. Outside of WK/WKL, HHKB 60s often stick to 7u, instead of committing to the original layout.
Type B has one option only - 6u bottom row. I'm not the biggest fan of topre (sorry) but I am in love with the layout.
8 months since the start of the project, here it is.

Specs
- 7 degrees angle
- Adjusted front height of 18.746 mm (see below, measured from the control key area, not spacebars as that would be a useless measurement)
- 7.8mm plate to top case clearance
- Integrated USB hub - this is on it's own daughterboard setup, deliberately designed in a modular fashion to be used in other projects
- MX and custom EC PCBs available (EC will come later, this is just an IC, I still need to test)
- 2 piece brass weights
- "Hotdog" (o ring strips) or top mounted
- 1210g built
- Available in Blackout (Black Ano, Black Weight) and Silver (Brass clearcoated weight)
Integrated Hub
Currently powered by USB2514 - this chip is EOL, but we have enough in stock to make this work.
Why make a HHKB inspired board without this?

Fitted here with a Razer Viper v2 dongle and a USB drive.
My intended purpose for this was to use a MFA FP reader required for my office work, and keeping it somewhat hidden (ie, dont have it stick out) by the ledge above it.

Layout
For those that want to use full backspace / Rshift, ISO, that will be included.
6u bottom row. That is the only thing not optional here

Optional gummy strip mounting, helps keep a firm but not harsh bottom out

As much of the wiring necessary is kept below the weight. Phillips head screws will not be there in the final units, don't shout at me.

Yes - the vertical feet are changing.

Changes
- Custom EC PCB in development; will be available after this GB, as of right now testing is still to be completed. Internal spacing on the board is perfect, just handling finer details. I don't want to sell untested products.

1- mounting style makes typing a unique experience
2- layout is goat
3- ano was smoov and nice
4- usb hub underrated
5- weight inside

Any updates on this?
-
Does the silence indicate there's no updates?
Are you providing updates elsewhere (I couldn't find anything on CannonKeys or SKME)? - If so, then please provide them here too in line with:
What are my responsibilities as a Group Buy organizer after creating the thread?
geekhack.org is a community of keyboard enthusiasts and not simply an advertising platform for keyboard-related sales. Thus we require that any group buy organizers who post their group buy threads in this section also provide updates in the thread they have started until the conclusion of the group buy, even if updates are also posted somewhere else. It is requested to post an update at least monthly, even if there is no progress in manufacturing.
Group buy threads made here are for group buy progress discussion as well as open discussion of any quality control issues. If a group buy organizer decides to provide an off-site instant message chat option for faster order support (for example Discord), any such communication needs to be optional when it comes to non-sensitive order information (individual support involving personal information is not required to, and should not, be posted in the public thread).

Any updates on this?
CannonKeys always posts updates to our project updates page:
https://cannonkeys.com/pages/project-updates
We also sent out monthly email updates to those who purchased from CannonKeys - even if there is no real substantial update, we will send a monthly email stating as such.
The project updates page above only really tracks new updates.
Production is underway.

Thanks upas, I appreciate the update.
I thought I checked that exact page you linked but Type-B was still showing "Order has been placed with the manufacturer.". Maybe I missed something or that update was retroactively added.
Glad to hear it's all progressing, I am keen for this board.

Trying to figure it out looking at the plate, but does this support an off-centre 6u MX spacebar?

Any update on this GB for those who aren't on Discord?
