Title: 77 lbs ?
Post by: tp4tissue on Tue, 30 May 2023, 14:01:41
Korea, kimchi consumption averages around 77 pounds per year (Choi 2020).

That's 9 gallons, If that's average, it means there are people dunking 15 gallons.

A gallon a month is a quart a week, that is not entirely ridiculous.

i could believe it. that's like, 1.5 pounds a week, or 24 ounces a week. that's only a couple ounces a day. it adds up for sure. i probably eat the same amount of ice cream in a year lmao

I can barely stomach a spoonful of the stuff xD .

That said, it's not too surprising I think. According to a QI segment, kimchi was the most adored food on the planet by its consumers, i.e. nowhere in the world do people like their food as much as the Koreans adore kimchi.

It affirms Tp4's take that koreans eat wayyyy too much salt.
