They've cheaped out on the tooth paste tube.
It used to have the shape-holding aluminum liner, now it's just white plastic tube.

I'm guessing that it is just because they are easier to recycle.

No, but cuz Tp4's p00rt1tude is truly @ 150%, he must recover all the paste that's still in the tube after he gets to the end. There's usually a good 10 days worth of brushing left in the tube, if you routinely use ~pea-sized amount each session.
