I dragged out my old 2020 with the intention of carrying a sensible test... but I couldn't resist pretending to use the 'logitech test' instead of aquakeytest

Really don't know why all those numbers turn up, but there seems to be a few other artifacts when you hold a few keys down.
CBA to do a better test.
Don't know about the later keyboards, though.

EZR-2030 is 2KRO.
E.g. holding down WAS registers only the first 2 keys.

Thanks! Now if only an owner of a 2030 USB would chime in on rollover and ghosting.. I doubt they'd improve on the former, but hopefully they fixed the latter.
Speaking of matrix boards, I noticed that you have a tipro - is that also a 2KRO, with plate mounted switches? I'd go for a "faux" typematrix on one of those, but typing on blacks might push me into drinking.

Why would a typist ever need more than 2KRO?
Yeah, yeah :p I'm actually interested in trying a matrix board for gaming as well, but I know that even there 2KRO is not that bad. This is mostly a curiosity type of thing, and it did help in showing some ghosting problems alongside.

Yes, plate mounted Cherry blacks with 2KRO. But they are designed to take large keycaps that press multiple switches - 1x2, 2x1 and 2x2. So switches that are next to each other seem optimised to play nicely together.

Touch-typists can benefit by more than two-key rollover because they may type fast enough so as to have three (or more!) keystrokes in the pipeline at once, at least momentarily, and it's helpful if they're not slowed down by having to lift their fingers off one key before starting to type the next letter in order to avoid errors.

You don't really need more than 2KRO for this though - such a situation would typically involve both hands, so the board designer merely has to make sure that the left-hand side and right-hand side of the alphanumeric section don't get too much in the way of each other for a typical touch typist.
