Details

DSS 99˘ is a 40s-oriented keyset, with one robust kit to support a huge variety of 40s and 30s layouts. The kitting should cover any row-stagger and ortho layout (and most columnar-stagger as well) from 13u on down, including 40s with a Gamer Row—feel free to ask on here or Discord (same username) if you want to confirm compatibility with a particular layout. Colormatching is complete (see photo above).

To accompany the base kit, we've partnered with Pseudoku/Asymplex to offer convex DXX minibars (designed to emulate a convex version of DSS R3) in sizes from 1u to 3u, as well as DSS ISO Enter. These keys will be available in two styles: opaque and artisan. The opaque bars will be matched to the alphas, and the opaque ISO Enter will be matched to the accent pink. The artisan versions will be a mix of the alpha cyan, mod green, and accent pink in Pseudoku's dynamic signature style!

Aside from the obvious similarities to aesthetic's colors and inspiration, this has some odd choices. Why is the darker green, which is pretty small on the bottle, being used for the alphas color? And why include the 1-6 num keys when only one or two 40s will support it? Should either get rid of them to ease up costs, or add the rest of the numbers to add some coverage for anything with a numpad, which is probably more common in 40s than a half numrow.

That hypothetical numpad would be all R1, and there's a healthy amount of v4n-layout boards floating around that do 1-6 only - arguably a more popular layout than 40s with numpads.

Still love this idea. A couple questions: Why grave/tilde with half number row kitting? I'll wager that exactly no one uses that cap if the set gets made. Also, any chance for a pair of 1.25u "bars"? Have you gotten any quotes yet?

Are one or both rows above DSA really R4 and just miss-labeled R3?  Mostly 1.25u and 1.5u are R4 mods.  Arrows are usually R4 as well.

This set is 2-3-4-3 intentionally for a flatter bottom row. There is an R4 up arrow as well as R3 so you can put all arrows on the bottom row, or put up arrow on the Z-row.

For the person in the IC form asking if this supports QAZ layout: Yes! The kitting intentionally includes the mod keys you need to cover QAZ-like boards:

I have a couple exciting updates on the status of this project:

First, I'm happy to announce that we'll have three regional vendors for the set: Sneakbox in the U.S., KeebSupply in the E.U., and ergokeyboard.sg in Asia. We're planning on running the group buy from August 24 - September 23. The base kit will be priced at 115 USD (or local equivalent).

Second, we will be partnering with Asymplex to offer convex DXX minibars and DSS ISO Enter! Convex DXX minibars will be available in sizes from 1u through 3u.
