Hello everyone, this is the IC for DCS Hacked. I was deeply inspired when I watched Persona 5 and saw the character futaba. I thought to myself, she is literally me, and I decided to base my entire life around this, since then I have watched Persona 5 once per week at minimum and have posters of Futaba up all over my wall. Truly Futaba is the best character in all of animation, possibly all of film as well.

In all seriousness, the Inspiration is geekhack colours, in DCS. Which was chosen because DCS good and gorton legends good.
This uses stock colours and they are
Alphas - GEW GVB
Modifiers - NN
Legends - OAV OBJ
KITTINGSorry if the renders are not that great, still pretty new to this and will improve my rendering skills.
Base Kit
(https://i.imgur.com/0V20aYl.jpg)
This base kit accomodates the standard layouts for a tkl base kit (happy with the wording now...), which includes standard ansi, tsangan, along with 60%, 65%, alice and 40s now (keep in mind that the alice spacebars will be concave and not convex). Also has iso and mx hhkb support for the cool people who use them. (6u spacebar is centred, sorry for not including that)
Numpad Kit

Here is a numpad kit to accommodate the cool people who use it, pretty simple kit here.
PRICING
(https://i.imgur.com/BCc65uy.png)
Keep in mind that it will be a bit more due to vendor costs, and I won't be making any money off the set to decrease the cost of it as well
Expected Questions
Why is there a separate numpad kit instead of one big kit?
More
It's just far more economically viable to do a base and numpad for dcs. I like seeing complete sets as well but it only racks up cost for the base kit making it less appealing for everyone who wants in. Plus the prices at 25moq is hopefully fine for most people who want it. Another thing is that vendors who would want to pick up extras would prefer a cheaper manufacturing cost to order those extras.
Where is 40s, other spacebar types and other miscellaneous kitting?
More
There are questions related to an extension and spacebar kit in the IC form, would like to add them both but would just like to see if people are interested first
Alps Kit?
More
Probably not sadly because there isn't too much demand for dcs and even less for alps. Did put it in the IC just in case a lot of people would want it, which I do doubt. No Sadly, just not enough demand.
MORE RENDERSTried to do some renders again, definetly a lot better than my first attempts now that I have more of grasp of blender, still need to work on it though

ENDING NOTESPlease fill out the IC (if you want to of course) and if you like the project, join the discord I created for updates and discussion, and maybe spread the word if you want to see this get made.
Special thanksMore

Changes
Changed print to prt sc, 1u numpad 0 has the ins legend and del to delete.
Moved R1 End and PgDn to the numpad kit.
Added both a 6u bar and 3 key 40s into base.
added 2.00u into base kit.
Plans
Finalise Colours (have ordered a bunch of sp chips to compare with each other to see which one fits and is better)
Finalise Kitting.
Acquire some vendors for the project.
Maybe organize some artisan collabs.
Hello again. Thanks for all the thoughtful feedback and kind words on the IC, really appreciate it. Just gonna lay out what I've been doing for the last bit and the changes planned.
Kitting changes - I will be adding both 00 and 1u = to the numpad kit, that should be pretty much everything that would be needed to that kit, and stepped control will be added to the extension kit, forgot about that admittedly but understand why people would want it.
I have been updating the extension kit as well in this time, which was updated in the IC and I will planning on rendering it soon. Still waiting for quotes from when I said for the extension and also the updated kitting, minus the 00 and 1u = (my fault there apologies for that)
Speaking of renders, I have been experimenting with a different rendering system? (I think that's a better term), I've put a test version here to just show what it looks like (need to do the custom gh novelty and also try and improve the lighting) but these renders have less weird legends then the system I've been using and I think they will be promising. Will put up the base and numpad kits soon and extension will be put up when I sort of all that out since there is quite a bit more to that kit with stuff like bae and stepped alts and ctrls. Thanks to pontus for showing me this and helping me out, appriciate it a lot considering how new I am to rendering.

As for the spacebar kit, I'll wait til my colour chips come here to confirm if there is. I have a set of gmk abs colour samples so if one of the colours matches up it might be best to just not include the spacebar kit (especially if it matches are close to something like 2b as sets like dualshot r2 have spacebar kits or at least the addon kit in stock on omnitypes website has them), it's almost even on interest in the IC again and I just want to see if there are other viable options, only because sp spacebars are concave instead of convex. Will keep everything updated when I decide on options.
One more thing. I have been thinking about buying some of the moq, I don't have too much spare income but even buying 10 or so sets will really help aid towards the moq, still will be tough considering how harsh it is for dcs sets so hopefully it can be reached.
if you haven't filled out the IC please consider doing that and if you want to join Rhiencord as I have called it for updates to this project when they come (and others when I decide to work on them, for now just doing dcs hacked but have some ideas I would like to do down the road)
Thanks again for all the support and interest in my project :)
You say in the OP "Why is there a separate numpad kit instead of one big kit? It's just far more economically viable to do a base and numpad for dcs."
Averaging US kit prices from 15 previous DCS GBs (8 Full Base, 7 TKL Base + Numpad) yields:
$123 Full Base
$121 TKL Base = $2 less than Full Base
$30 Numpad
$151 TKL + Numpad = $28 more than Full Base
Numpad orders were between 22% and 40% of TKL base orders.
What makes you say a Full base for DCS isn't economically viable?

It was more in terms of demand vs pricing, dcs is mainly bought by enthusiasts imo as in the general population of keyboard enjoyers don't really buy dcs, which means that for numpad support demand is a lot lower, it's better to split them off in order to keep the costs down for the base, while still offering the numpad for the people who want it.
One of the big factors as well is that prices have gone up since 2022 to the point where it would be a substantial increase to the base kit (I talked about this in my discord as well)
Thanks for responding. I will continue to look into it in order to make it more viable for people, as I do want to run this set.
I have the milk now
thanks my goat.
