GMK(?) Anushirvan is inspired by ancient Persia. One of the monumental cultures and polities of the classical period that is perhaps less represented in the keeb world (yea we have GMK Sparta and Gladiator and tons of China-inspired stuff over at zFrontier). Persian culture, religion and aesthetics bears lasting influence to not only the Iranian plateau, Mesopotamia, but also impacts much of the wider Islamic world and beyond. Overall this has been a very fun project.
"Anushirvan" is the epithet of Shapur I, one of the greatest monarchs of Sassanian Persia. It means "the immortal soul" and encapsulates how I feel about one of the great cultures to ever exist.
Colour scheme is loosely inspired by the idea of dualism in Persian culture and religion, namely the struggle between light and darkness, as well as fire and water which are important symbols in ancient Persia.
Sublegends are Avestan - a middle Persian alphabet primarily utilised for the transcription of the Avesta.

The usual stuff - HHKB / Alice / Terminal ISO / basic 40s support. Included a few orange / blue accent keys, as well as some less usual accents (backspace and caps) for an overall more vibrant effect.

The central theme of the novelties kit is fire - an important symbology in ancient Persia which carries a wide range of possible meanings, including, for example, purity, victory and sanctity.
Other novelties are inspired by the ancient empires of Persia (namely the war mask / cataphract novelties) as well as various Persian mythologies / folklores (for example the winged lion and the Simurgh - something similar to a phoenix).

It's a very dark purple - I have the colour chip but will need manu to match to it once that has been confirmed.

I was not aware of this set when I worked on Anushirvan - I have shown the set to several friends (including designers / vendor reps etc) and none of them pointed this out; so I guess this is just coincidence. Believe that the inspiration of the colours have been explained in the IC and to some extent the juxtaposition / contrast between cyan and orange is just basic colour theory. There are differences between all of the colours which you could say to be subtle or apparent depending on your perspective.
Confident to say that I drew no inspiration from the above (and the above is a nice keyset)

What is sloppy about it? I'm not familiar enough with the alphabet or culture to understand if anything is inaccurate, but from a technical perspective, the set looks to be executed quite competently to my eye.
Re: Shakudo, if we don't let sets with similar colorways run there's not many sets left to make. Kitsune also did the dark base color, peach-ish legends, blue-ish sublegends. (Which to be clear, I think is totally fine - there are only so many colors to begin with, and there's fewer still combinations of colors that enough human beings find pleasing to make viable keyset colorways.)

I think an R2 1.5u Backslash/Pipe is missing in the Latin Alphas Kit.

cost issue, the kit already has a lot of keys, will consider if the quote is right
